Transfer of animal ownership
{Canine Adoption Form}
This contract is between Whispurring Hope Rescue, hereinafter referred to as thee adoptee,
and person/s signing this contract, hereinafter referred to as the adopter(s).

The adopter agrees to adopt {animal name} _________________________________ a rescued canine for the
sum of $_______.
If canine is not spay/neutered at time of adoption, (State Law Requires) the animal must be returned
between 6 and 8 months to be spay/neutered (or proof must be shown therein that the animal has
been sterilized). Canines must be spay/neutered no older than 8 months and no younger than 6
months.
1) The adopter agrees to provide a life-long commitment, comfortable environment, prompt medical attention,
proper grooming and responsible care. This includes keeping this animal parasite free and up to date with
inoculations, proper nutrition, which consists of a good quality professional feed given at regular intervals, and
fresh water available at all times. The adopter promises to provide a safe environment for the animal, and
never allow the animal to roam freely without proper fencing or supervision. Whispurring Hope strongly
recommends that the animal be micro-chipped in order to facilitate their return if lost or stolen. (Adoptee will
provide microchip in all AKC animals and will not release ownership of microchip guardianship until at which
time the animal is spay/neutered. Whispurring Hope Rescue will also retain all AKC forms until sterilization
certificates are released to Whispurring Hope Rescue.
2) Whispurring Hope guarantees this animal to be of sound health and temperament as a rescued animal can
be for their own personal safety and the safety of the adopter and the public at the time of this sale. A health
record of all vaccines, de-worming and spay and neuter will be provided by the adoptee. The adopter agrees
to take this animal to a licensed veterinarian of their choice within 7 days of adoption for a physical
examination only (Vaccinations, spay and neuters are to be done only at Whispurring Hopes
Veterinarians) We will not cover any medical cost of adopted animal that is done by another vet unless
approved prior to vetting. Should animal be determined to be in ill health at time of adoption, the cause of
which Whispurring Hope Rescue is clearly to blame, the animal may, upon a signed written diagnosis from said
licensed veterinarian, be returned for refund of the adoption fee. Whispurring Hope Rescue assumes absolutely
no responsibility for fees associated with caring for the animal. No other guarantees are given.

3) If at any time the adopter can no longer retain possession of this animal, Whispurring Hope Rescue is to be
notified and given first option of resuming full ownership of animal. In this case, all papers and medical records
must accompany the animal upon return. Should any circumstances arise that affect the quality of life of the
animal, Whispurring Hope Rescue is to be informed so that they may participate in determining the future of
the animal, Whispurring Hope Rescue reserves the right to approve/prohibit any transfer of this animal to a
third party. Under no circumstances will this animal be sold, leased, traded or given away to any pet shop,
research laboratory, humane society or similar facility or private person(s), family or other. No animal adopted
from Whispurring Hope Rescue can ever be housed outside of the adopter’s home, (no outside dog houses,
kennels, barns, etc.) No animal adopted from Whispurring Hope can be used for hunting or the like thereof,
unless animal resides within the home of the adopter for the duration of its lifetime.
4) The adopter agrees to contact Whispurring Hope Rescue immediately if any questions or concerns arise
about the canine, such as housing, diet, or health. The adopter agrees to keep the seller informed of any
treatment as it occurs. This provides Whispurring Hope Rescue & the adopter(s) with an opportunity to follow
up on the canine and gives us important feedback and information on the health or our animals for future
reference.
5) Ear clipping and tail docking is an inhumane thing and WILL NOT be allowed on any animal adopted
from Whispurring Hope Rescue. The animal will be returned to Whispurring Hope Rescue if this should
occur.
6) Whispurring Hope offers a 3 day trial period for all adopted canines. If for any reason the said animal is not
a proper fit, the animal may be brought back to Whispurring Hope for a full refund of the adoption fee. This
does not include any other expenses occurred during the 3 day trial period. Partial refund of the adoption fee
may be given up to 10 days after adoption at the discretion of the adoptee. Refunds will NOT be given after
10 days from adoption.
7) After signing of paper work and transfer of the animal, Whispurring Hope and their affiliates are
released of any liabilities pertaining to this animal. Owner assumes ALL responsibilities of this animal,
including biting, scratching, jumping on or knocking down people of all ages and any other harm it
may bring on any individual. Owner also assumes all responsibilities of sickness in this animal and
must keep all vaccines up to date.
The above mentioned paragraphs contain conditions established by Whispurring Hope Rescue and the state of
Iowa, to ensure the wellbeing of all canines. This adoption agreement will continue for the duration of the
animal’s life. Whispurring Hope Rescue reserves the right to enforce this agreement. We also reserve the right
to check on the adopted animal within their life time.
If animal becomes pregnant after contract, Whispurring Hope reserves the right to take over legal
ownership of said animal and all offspring.
