(Students who choose not to participate will be given an alternative assignment) Lab Instructions: Creating “slime” and “monster blood” is a great way of celebrating Halloween but it’s also a great way of using scientific principles. Chemistry involves the study of mixing different chemical substances together to produce either a physical or a chemical change. For this lab students are going to have the option to go home and look up “chemical recipes” for slime and/or monster blood. Students should practice making their concoctions at home first and then bring the necessary materials to make the same substance(s) at school. It is important that students practice their “experiment” at least once at home before bringing it to school to show to their classmates. Extra Credit Students will automatically receive 10 points of extra credit for each chemistry Halloween experiment that they perform at school and fill out this worksheet for. Students will also have the opportunity to win additional prizes if their slime or monsters blood is voted the best in the class.
