Enrolment and Refund Policy
Enrolment Policy
All parents or guardians that enrol a child in Fun-Damentals – Sport and Movement Skills are
to fill out the following; enrolment/booking form, Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims,
Assumption of Risk
All parents are expected to read Fun-Damentals policies, these policies are available on our
website www.fun-damentals.com.au, they are also available to be emailed on request and a
hard copy will be located at all events hosted by Fun-Damentals.
All parents are expected to answer truthfully questions asked about medical issues and are
expected to provide all necessary information about their child’s medical conditions or any
condition that could prevent their child participating in activities safely.
All fees are to be paid upfront before a child can participate in any Fun-Damentals activities.
All parents and students are expected to follow Fun-Damentals Anti-Bullying policy.
Fun-Damentals reserves the right to cancel the enrolment of any student whose behaviour,
language or actions are considered inappropriate.
Fun-Damentals operates a first in first served policy for enrolments. Those parents who book
in first will have priority for spots at our activities.
Fun-Damentals reserves the right to refuse enrolment if they believe the enrolment will
endanger or threaten the enjoyment of other children.
Fun-Damentals is an inclusive business and prides itself on their ability to cater for any
student, Fun-Damentals will endeavour to include any student who wishes to participate in
their activities. However, there will be times when Fun-Damentals does not have the
resources or staff to accommodate everyone.
Refund Policy
Fun-Damentals requires at least two weeks’ notice of cancellation in order to refund an
enrolment in full.
Fun-Damentals will refund half of the enrolment fee if the cancellation is made between one
and two weeks.

Fun-Damentals will not refund enrolment fees if a cancellation is made within a week of
enrolment unless; a replacement can be found to take their spot, due to medical or family
issues accompanied by written documentation from a professional i.e. a doctors certificate,
funeral notice. Please contact the Director directly to discuss if you have any issues.
If a child’s enrolment is cancelled due to an accident, injury, illness or trauma then the child
will have the rest of their days refunded in full.
If a child’s enrolment is cancelled due to breaking a Fun-Damentals policy, half of their
remaining fees will be returned not including the day their enrolment was terminated.

Government and Management Policy
Aim
The aim of Fun-Damentals is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. A
place to improve their fitness and gross motor skills.
Fun-Damentals was created to target an area of concern in the community and plans to share
information and links with local sports clubs and organisations. Ultimately Fun-Damentals
wishes to expand and help as many communities as possible.
While there is a sole-owner of Fun-Damentals – Sport and Movement Skills, partnerships
exist in the business which enable it to be successful.
In the future business partnerships will be sought in different communities as well as
Wollongong.
Policy
Fun-Damentals is owned, registered and run by its Director Daniel Morris.
Fun-Damentals is run in consultation with Michael Williams.
Fun-Damentals holiday clinics are run at Lindsay Park Primary School in consultation with
the Principal Robert Cusack.
The Director is to maintain a professional relationship with all staff members and clients and
conduct himself in a manner that upholds the name of the business and business associates.
The Director is responsible for all record keeping including – payment of fees, enrolment,
authorisations, medical forms, administration of medicine, risk assessments and reviews,
Incident, Accident and Trauma records, parent and student contact details.
Records are to be kept at the Directors house and remain confidential, the Director will not
share any records with other sources other than if requested to by law.
All decisions made by the Director are final.
Staff are instructed to use their ‘best practice’ coaching strategies in compliance with all FunDamentals policies and with the aim to provide a safe caring and educational experience for
clients.

The Director is the nominated supervisor for all clinics. In the event that the Director cannot
attend then the direction of the camp will fall to Michael Williams.
In the event a complaint or concern is made about the Director, the event will be addressed by
Michael Williams.

Acceptance and Refusal of Authorisations Policy
Aim
The aim of the Acceptance and Refusal of Authorisation Policy is to assure parents that FunDamentals operates a professional service promoting the safety of children while
participating in physical activities.
Policy
Fun-Damentals requires authorisation by parents in writing to participate in any activities.
Verbal permission will not be accepted unless in the case of an evacuation, Incident, Accident
or Trauma whereby the safety of the child is in question.
In this case verbal permission may be requested to administer First Aid, administer
medication or seek medical intervention. That is, call an ambulance in the event of a major
Incident, Accident or Trauma.
In the event a parent refuses to sign any authorisation set out by Fun-Damentals, FunDamentals reserves the right to refuse enrolment. Except in the case of photography for
promotional purposes.
Parents reserve the right to not authorise Fun-Damentals to use photo’s to display on
promotional material such as but not limited to; flyers, brochures, websites, blogs,
newspapers.

Anti-Bullying Policy
PURPOSE
The aim of the anti-bullying policy is to ensure students participate in a supportive, caring
and safe environment without fear of being bullied. The policy creates a framework to assure
students and parents that they will be supported when bullying is reported and every action
will be taken to prevent bullying in all Fun-Damentals activities. Fun-Damentals has used the
following in support of its anti-bullying policy.

POLICY STATEMENT
Bullying is anti-social behaviour and affects everyone; it is unacceptable and will not be
tolerated. Fun-Damentals take reports of bullying seriously and will actively work towards
eliminating incidents of bullying at our clinics.
The Director of Fun-Damentals has a responsibility to ensure that:
Coaching and non-coaching staff, students and parents should have an understanding of what
bullying is.
Coaching and non-coaching staff should know what Fun-Damentals policy is on bullying,
and follow it when bullying is reported.
PROCEDURES
At Fun-Damentals clinics the following steps are be taken when dealing with incidents of
student bullying:
If bullying of a student is suspected or reported, the incident will be dealt with immediately
by the member of staff who has been approached.
A clear account of the incident will be recorded in writing and given to the Director
The Director will interview all concerned and will record the incident in writing.
Parents of all students involved are to be informed in writing of the incident and action taken
by the Director.
Coaches are to be informed of bullying incidents and any action taken.
The Director will take the following action for the student who has been bullied:
Offer the student an immediate opportunity to discuss the experience with the Director or
member of staff of their choice.
Take steps to reassure the bullied student that their complaint is being taken seriously and
that there is support for the student
Take action to assist the restoration of self-esteem and confidence.

Document any discussion with the student who has been bullied.
The Director will take the following action for the student who has bullied:
Use Real Justice techniques to discuss what happened
Discover why the student became involved in the bullying behaviour
Establish the wrong doing and need to change
Disciplinary action with the student who has bullied.
Inform parents or guardians to help change the attitude and behaviour of the student
Use Real Justice techniques to work towards restoring the relationship between the students
involved in the bullying incident.
Document any discussion with the student who has bullied.
Documentation relating to a student bullying incident i.e.:
• Incident report
• Documentation relating to student interviews
• Disciplinary action taken
• Letters sent to parents
• File notes of any follow up action

Incident, Injury, Trauma and Illness Policies
Aim
The aim of this policy is too outline how Incidents, Injuries, Trauma and Illness will be dealt
with by Fun-Damentals.
Policies
In the event of an Incident, Injury, Trauma or Illness the event will be recorded and a parent
will be notified as soon as possible, within 24 hours of the event.
All Incidents, Injuries, Traumas or Illnesses will be recorded and records will be kept and
remain confidential by the Director of Fun-Damentals till the child is 25 years old.
A record will be kept of any treatment issued and any first aid that was given.
Records will include; Full name of child, age, details of the incident, trauma or illness, time
and date of the event, action taken by staff members, any first aid or medication administered,
details of witnesses, signature of person recording the event.
All information regarding events of Incident, Injury, Trauma or Illness will be recorded
within 24 hours of the event occurring.
In the event that a child, coach or parent suffers an injury while involved in an activity the
activity is to be stopped immediately and if possible the injured person will be removed to a
safe place.
It is the coaches’ responsibility to notify the Director of any Incident, Injury, Trauma or
Illness that has occurred whilst under their supervision. Any first aid or actions taken are to
be recorded in writing.
It is the child’s or parents responsibility to notify a member of staff if they have sustained an
injury during an activity or during a break immediately so this information can be recorded.

Administration of First Aid Policy
Aim
Fun-Damentals aim to provide a safe venue for children to participate in physical activity.
The Director and staff take every precaution in their power to ensure all activities are safe and
risks are reduced to a minimum.
All activities have been designed to minimise risk and risk assessments of activities are
updated and reviewed after each holiday program.
Policy
A First Aid kit will be provided at all Fun-Damentals holiday programs and weekend sports.
The First Aid kit will be checked at the end of each week and any used products will be
replaced immediately.
There will be at least one qualified First Aid Officer at all times during all activities.
The Director will be the nominated First Aid Officer.
All Staff are encouraged to be trained in First Aid.
Parents are responsible for providing Fun-Damentals with any medication records needed.
First Aid will be administered by staff if they feel it will reduce injury and/or save lives.
Where possible First Aid will be administered under the supervision of another staff member
or witnessed by a parent/other student if another staff member is not available.
Where possible treatment must be given using sterile gloves.
All First Aid treatments will be recorded using the Fun-Damentals First Aid Register, this
information will be kept by the Director.
First Aid will be administered under the instructor’s knowledge of St John’s Ambulances
policies. E.g. DRABCD.

Administration of Medicine and Dealing with Medical Conditions
in Children
Aim
Fun-Damentals aims to provide an inclusive environment for all to enjoy the benefits of
physical activity. We aim to work with parents to provide children with medical conditions
the same opportunities to develop their sporting skills.
Policies
If a child has a known medical condition it is the parent’s responsibility to inform the
Director on enrolment to any Fun-Damentals clinic.
Medical conditions that parents need to inform the Director upon enrolment include but are
not limited to; Asthma, Diabetes, Anaphylaxis or a risk of Anaphylaxis.
It is the responsibility of parent’s to notify the Director of any medication their child has with
them or needs to have with them.
Records will be kept of Children with medical conditions.
All staff members will be informed of any student who has a specific medical condition.
Any parent of a child who is at risk of Anaphylaxis will be required to provide information
posters obtained from their doctor. Information needs to contain a photo of the student,
details of administering Epipen, emergency contact details, risk factors and prevention
strategies.
If a child requires an Epipen with them at all times, they are requested to bring a personal bag
with them to carry the Epipen in. Coaches at Fun-Damentals will attempt to remind ‘at risk’
students but cannot be held responsible for a child who forgets their medication.
If your child has Asthma it is requested that they keep their inhaler with them at all times.
An Asthma puffer and spacer will be available in the First Aid Kit, however, this should not
be relied upon as more than one person may have an attack on any given day and supplies can
run out.
If your child has Diabetes and requires specific medication or monitoring this must be made
evident to the Director of Fun-Damentals.

If your child needs to have medication administered by someone other than themselves the
Director needs to be informed prior to their enrolment to any activities.
If your child has any other medical condition or allergy not outlined in this policy it is the
responsibility of the parent to notify the Director of Fun-Damentals.
Administration
It is the responsibility of the parent to inform the Director if medication needs to be stored in
a particular manner.
It is the responsibility of the parent to provide medication for their child, Fun-Damentals will
not purchase any additional medication apart from a First Aid Kit.
It is the responsibility of the parent to provide instructions of how medication will be
administered and if any assistance is required.
If your child needs to have medication administered by someone other than themselves the
Director needs to be informed prior to their enrolment to any activities.
If your child requires a staff member to administer medication, written instructions and
permission to administer medication must be provided to the Director. Details of the
medication including what it is for, what is the prescribed dose, doctor’s name, time of day to
administer and any specific administering procedures must be included and made clear to the
Director.

Dealing with Infectious Diseases Policy
Aim
Fun-Damentals aims to provide a service that take all reasonable steps to prevent the spread
of infectious diseases at our clinics.
Policy
In the event of an infectious disease being recognised all parents will be contacted with
details of Fun-Damentals concerns.
It is the parent’s responsibility if they believe their child is infected with an infectious disease
that they will not attend clinics to prevent the spread of the disease.
In the case a child cannot attend a camp due to an infectious disease a full refund will be
given upon receiving a doctor’s certificate.
If a child is suspected to have an infectious disease the child will be removed from all
activities and their parents will be notified immediately.
Fun-Damentals reserves the right to refuse enrolment of any child that has or is suspected to
have an infectious disease until a Doctor has cleared the child to participate with other
students.
In the case of an infectious disease being identified, Fun-Damentals will seek advice from
local doctors and public health services to determine the best cause of action to minimise the
spreading of the disease.
Parents are encouraged if they are unsure of their children’s health to seek medical advice
immediately and notify the Director of Fun-Damentals of any concerns they may have.
If a parent willingly sends their child to a clinic with an infectious disease legal action may be
taken.

Delivery and Collection of Children to and from Service Policy
Aim
Fun-Damentals aims to provide in collaboration with parents the safe drop off and collection
of children from our activities.
Policies
Children will not be permitted to leave our clinics unless under the supervision of a
nominated guardian or an authorised nominee given to Fun-Damentals from the parents of
the child.
All parents must inform the Director if their child is coming too or leaving our clinics in any
other manner than their parents picking them up. For example, if the child is walking home
from clinics the Director needs to know this in advance.
In the event that a child will not be picked up by a nominated guardian, written authorisation
is required.
In the event that a child is not picked up by the nominated guardian, Fun-Damentals reserves
the right to collect identification from the individual picking up the child. This identification
will be recorded on the attendance sheet.
If Fun-Damentals feels that the child does not know or feel comfortable with the individual
picking them up, Fun-Damentals reserves the right to seek intervention from the local police
if a parent cannot be contacted.
An attendance record will be kept every day.
Parents dropping off students are requested to us the front gate of the school where a member
of staff will direct children where they need to go.
The front of the school is only a drop off and collection point, parents cannot park here.
If parents wish to come in to the school they must find a legal parking spot.
Except in the case of an emergency parents are not permitted to drive in to the school
premises.
It is requested that if a parent does not send a child to a day that they are enrolled in that they
call the director in advance.

Excursion Policy
Policy
Fun-Damentals intends to keep all activities on the grounds of Lindsay Park Primary School.
No excursions are planned.
When a service is provided at a school site, it is not considered an excursion if the child or
children leave the education and care premises accompanied by an educator but do not leave
the school site.
The only venues used by Fun-Damentals are the School itself Lindsay Park Primary School
and the attached council grounds.
In the event that Lindsay Park Primary School is unsafe to participate at then an alternate
venue will be established with the same policy of no excursions.

Interactions with Children Policy
Aim
Our aim at Fun-Damentals is to provide a safe environment for children to flourish and
develop their physical, cognitive and social skills. We encourage creativity in our activities as
well as developing fundamental movement skills. Our staff are encouraged to motivate and
engage students in a positive and professional manner that considers and embraces diversity.
Fun-Damentals believes all children should feel safe and secure at our clinics and our staff
will endeavour to create a safe and fulfilling environment.
Policies
All staff and students are to be aware of Fun-Damentals anti-bullying policy.
Staff are encouraged not to physically touch any child, however, as skills involve
manipulation of body parts at times an instructor may seek permission from the child to move
a certain part of the body.
Staff will never be allowed to touch any student in an inappropriate way.
Students are not permitted to touch any other student in an inappropriate way and if they do
so they are breaching enrolment conditions and can be excluded from all camps.
Staff are to have a professional relationship with parents and children.
Staff are not allowed to swear or use any inappropriate language.
Staff reserve the right to send a child to the Director if there is an issue they cannot resolve.
Staff are encouraged to prevent any conflict and find a resolution before it becomes a
problem.
Group work is encouraged amongst students to promote social skills and sharing of ideas and
talents.
Groups of students will be kept to a maximum of 25-1 teacher and ideally no more than 20-1.
As our camps involve multiple skills session’s students will be required to move locations
throughout the day. These moves are necessary and it is possible that a student has several
coaches per day.
If a student has an issue with a particular member of staff they are encouraged to express
their concerns to the Director personally or in writing.

Staffing Policy
Aim
Fun-Damentals aims to provide staff that are passionate about sports and teaching others how
to play sports in a friendly and positive environment.
Policy
Staff are to present themselves in a professional manner at all times.
Staff are to engage students in a friendly and nurturing manner.
Staff are to protect children from bullying in accordance to the anti-bullying policy.
Staff are to document and/or inform the Director of any case of abuse or bullying during their
sessions or while supervising breaks.
Staff are to document and/or inform the Director of any accident, injury or trauma during
their session or while supervising breaks.
Staff are expected to be in attendance at least thirty minutes prior and after to the scheduled
time for children.
Staff are expected to behave in a manner that does not implicate Fun-Damentals in a negative
manner.
Staff are to notify the Director in advance if they are unfit for work on a particular day.
Responsibility
The responsibility of staffing is to be made by the Director – Daniel Morris in consultation
with Michael Williams.
The person responsible for decisions at all clinics is Daniel Morris, in the case that the
Director is not available decisions relating to staffing as well as day to day running of FunDamentals is to be made by Michael Williams.
Qualifications
Staff are employed on the basis that they have an active Working with Children Check
Number.

Staff will not be employed if they have a criminal record relating to working with children.
Staff are expected to have one or more of the following

A minimum of one Level One Coaching Certificate.

A degree in PD/H/PE

Working towards a degree in PD/H/PE

Extensive coaching experience with young children.
Volunteers
Volunteers and parents are welcome to help with clinics, however, a Working with Children
Check is required if volunteers are helping with other children than their own.
A Volunteer Working with Children Check can be obtained from the RTA free of charge.
All volunteers and parents are expected to behave in a manner that is expected from pad staff.
The Director of Fun-Damentals has to give authority to any volunteer or parent before they
can help with activities.

Wet Weather and Water Safety Policy
Purpose
Fun-Damentals has designed a holiday program that aims to provide school holiday activities
in all weather conditions. The purpose of this programs design is to give parents the
confidence that their children will be participating in healthy activities no matter what the
weather conditions are like.
Policies
Fun-Damentals do not design activities that involve water sports.
In the event of rain activities will be modified depending on the severity of the rain and
conditions of the fields.
Activities planned outside will be moved under cover, inside or on non-grassed surfaces; if
Fun-Damentals decides the fields are too wet or dangerous, If Wollongong City Council
closes the grounds, or if rain is deemed to be too heavy.
In the event that court facilities are too wet, every effort will be made to dry surfaces and use
areas that are safe for activities.
Some activities may need to be modified due to space restrictions.
Flood
Although every effort will be made by Fun-Damentals to plan alternate activities in the event
of the school being flooded or unfit to use clinics may be cancelled.
Fun-Damentals will try to organise an alternate venue in the case of floods, in this case
parents will be notified as soon as the decision has been made.

Sun Protection Policy
Rationale
The Sun Protection Policy has been developed to ensure that all students and are protected
from over-exposure to harmful UV radiation from the sun. It documents our sun protection
practices. These practices will be applied to all activities.
Objectives
The objectives of the Sun Protection Policy are to:
Increase student and community awareness of skin cancer
Assist students to develop strategies that encourage responsible decision making about skin
protection
Work towards a safe environment that provides shade for students and staff
Encourage students, parents, teachers and staff to wear protective clothing, hats and
sunscreen during high risk times such as recess and lunch breaks, sport and excursions.
Ensure that parents are informed about the Sun Protection Policy.
Implementation
Students are required to wear hats whenever they are outdoors.
Staff are required to wear hats for all outdoor activities.
Parents are encouraged to wear hats when assisting in outdoor activities.
Sunscreen use
Students and staff are actively encouraged to apply minimum SPF 30+ broad spectrum waterresistant sunscreen regularly e.g. prior to clinics and during breaks in the day.
The use of indoor and shade facilities will be maximised when possible
Shade
Fun-Damentals is working towards increasing activities held under shaded areas and rotating
stations to ensure students are not in the sun all day.
Students are encouraged and instructed to eat recess and spend breaks under covered areas or
in the shade.
Students and Staff are actively encouraged to use the shade areas.
Procedures
A ‘no hat, no participation’ policy will be applied during all clinics.
Students will be able to purchase or loan hats from Fun-Damentals provided enough stock is
available

Students will not be permitted to participate in lessons or activities conducted outdoors in
areas exposed to the sun unless proper protection from the sun is undertaken.
Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies of SPF 30+ sunscreen to school.
Some sunscreen will be available to students, however, there is no guarantee that it will
always be available.
Students who do not have hats will be directed by the supervising staff to stay under verandas
or in shaded areas.

Nutrition, Food and Beverages, Dietary Requirements Policies
Aim
At Fun-Damentals we encourage healthy and safe eating habits. Although we do not provide
food we have policies on what can be brought into our camps for all children.
As our activities are physically demanding we promote drinking plenty of water and eating
nutritious foods
Policies
No Nuts, Nut Products or foods containing nuts are permitted at our camps due to the
possibility of food allergies and anaphylaxis in some students.
No eggs, egg products or foods containing eggs are permitted at our camps due to the
possibility of food allergies and anaphylaxis in some students.
All students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and sharing of water bottles is
discouraged to prevent transferring diseases.
Water will be provided throughout the school through bubblers and taps and some bottled
water will be made available, however, this supply should not be depended on.
Children are encouraged to take water breaks throughout the day and are encouraged to drink
before, during and after activities.
No drinks high in sugar will be permitted at our clinics, these drinks include but are not
limited too; soft drinks and energy drinks, these drinks cause dehydration and cramps.
Fun-Damentals camps are designed to promote lifelong healthy habits and as such parents are
encouraged not to include foods high in sugars in children’s lunch boxes.
The Staff at Fun-Damentals reserve the right to confiscate food and beverages that they do
not find fit for consumption at our sports clinics, these items will be returned to parents at the
end of the day.

Dealing with Complaints Policy
Context
All complaints will be taken seriously by Fun-Damentals, Complaints can be made against
staff, company, students and parents. Each complaint will be dealt with on a case by case
circumstance, outlined below are the policies and procedures for dealing with complaints.

Complaints against Staff
Any complaint against a member of staff from Fun-Damentals should be made to the Director
Daniel Morris, A formal complaint should be in written form.
In the event the complaint is against the Director the complaint should be made in writing to
Michael Williams
All complaints will be addressed in a matter which attempts to resolve the issue.
The decision by the Director in relation to the complaint is final.
Complaints against the Company or Services
In the event a complaint is made against Fun-Damentals about its services or Director, the
Director may wish to have a meeting with the person/s making this complaint to resolve the
situation. If a meeting is not requested all grievances should be made in writing.
If a resolution cannot be made the Company reserves the right to cancel the enrolment of the
parties involved and a refund for all unattended days will be given.
Complaints against other students/parents
Staff members will endeavour to deal with and resolve any complaints against other students
and parents.
In the event a complaint is made against another student to a member of staff that could not
be resolved, the staff member will inform the Director of the complaint and situation and any
methods used to try resolve the situation.
Students are welcomed to make formal complaints to the Director and are encouraged to
make these in writing.
Fun-Damentals has separate policies on Child Protection and Anti-Bullying, these policies
will be put into place and action may be taken against individuals if they are in breach of
these policies.

The Director will endeavour to resolve any complaints, however, if a solution cannot be
obtained individuals or groups may have the enrolment cancelled and money will be refunded
for any days they have not attended.

Emergency and Evacuation Policy
Aim
The aim of the emergency and evacuation policy is to outline what will be done in the event
of an emergency or that an evacuation needs to occur. It will address what procedures will
occur and who will be notified and how records will be kept.
An emergency refers to all situations or events posing an imminent or severe risk to those
present in an education and care service premises.
Policies
Fun-Damentals will follow the evacuation plan outlined by Lindsay Park Primary School.
In the case of an emergency and an evacuation is needed all students will assemble at the
designated evacuation point. At this point all students will have their names marked against
the roll of students for the day.
In the case of an emergency and an evacuation is required, parents will be notified as soon as
possible.
All evacuation points will be addressed at the start of every day.
At the start of each day students will be notified what to do and where to go in the event of an
emergency and evacuation.
Emergency evacuations will be rehearsed every three months, due to the nature of our
programs emergency evacuations will be rehearsed at least once every holiday program.
All rehearsals will be documented by the Director of Fun-Damentals.
Documentation of each rehearsal will include a review of any areas of concern and how to
improve the evacuation procedure.

Child Protection Policy
Aim - The main objective of our Child Protection Policy is to maintain responsible
behaviour and the making of informed decisions by participants at Fun-Damentals. It
outlines our commitment to a person’s right to be treated with respect and dignity, and to be
safe and protected from abuse. Our policy informs everyone involved in our club of his or
her legal and ethical rights and responsibilities and the standards of behaviour that are
required. It also covers the care and protection of children participating in our activities.
Policy
Fun-Damentals encourage the active participation between parents and staff in building and
maintaining a secure environment for all participants.
Fun-Damentals acknowledges that our staff, members and volunteers provide a valuable
contribution to the positive experiences of children involved in our sport. Fun-Damentals
aims to continue this and to take measures to protect the safety and welfare of children
participating in our sport.
Fun-Damentals will regularly determine how child-safe and child-friendly our organisation is
and determine what additional strategies are required to minimise and prevent risk of harm to
children because of the action of an employee, volunteer or another person.
All staff will have Working With Children checks carried out before employment.
Fun-Damentals will ensure that volunteers and employees will have ongoing supervision,
support and training such that their performance is developed and enhanced to promote the
establishment and maintenance of a child-safe environment.
Fun-Damentals opposes all forms of harassment, discrimination and bullying. This includes
treating or proposing to treat someone less favourably because of a particular characteristic;
imposing or intending to impose an unreasonable requirement, condition or practice which
has an unequal or disproportionate effect on people with a particular characteristic; or any
behaviour that is offensive, abusive, belittling, intimidating or threatening – whether this is
face-to-face, indirectly or via communication technologies such as mobile phone and
computers. Some forms of harassment, discrimination and bullying are against the law and
are based on particular characteristics such as age, disability, gender, sexual orientation,
pregnancy, political or religious beliefs, race, and marital status.

Fun-Damentals takes all claims of harassment, discrimination, bullying and cyber bullying
seriously. We encourage anyone who believes they have been harassed, discriminated
against or bullied to raise the issue with the Director or other member of staff.
Fun-Damentals staff promote and model appropriate standards of behaviour at all times.
Fun-Damentals will respond to breaches or complaints made under our policy promptly,
fairly, and confidentially.
All individuals are to; treat others with respect, always place the safety and welfare of
children above other considerations, be responsible and accountable for their behaviour,
follow the guidelines outlined in this policy if they wish to make a complaint or report a
concern about possible child abuse, discrimination, harassment or other inappropriate
behaviour.

Aim - This Code of Behaviour aims to set out the minimum standards for anyone involved
in Fun-Damentals activities.

Act within the rules and spirit of your sport.

Promote fair play over winning at any cost.

Encourage and support opportunities for people to learn appropriate behaviours and
skills.

Support opportunities for participation in all aspects of the sport.

Treat each person as an individual.

Show respect and courtesy to all involved with the sport.

Respect the rights and worth of every person, regardless of their age, race, gender,
ability, cultural background, sexuality or religion.

Respect the decisions of officials, coaches and administrators.

Wherever practical, avoid unaccompanied and unobserved one-on-one activity (when
in a supervisory capacity or where a power imbalance exists) with people under the
age of 18.

Display appropriate and responsible behaviour in all interactions.

Display responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and other drugs.

Act with integrity and objectivity, and accept responsibility for your decisions and
actions.

Ensure your decisions and actions contribute to a safe environment.

developmental stage and goals of each person and encourage them with positive and
constructive feedback.

Obtain appropriate qualifications and keep up-to-date with the latest coaching
practices and the principles of growth and development of young players.

Ensure that any physical contact with another person is appropriate to the situation
and necessary for the person's skill development.
Officials

Place the safety and welfare of the athletes above all else.

Ensure all players are included and can participate, regardless of their race, gender,
ability, cultural background, sexuality or religion.

Be consistent, impartial and objective when making decisions.

Address unsporting behaviour and promote respect for other players and officials.
Administrators

Ensure quality supervision and instruction for players.

Support coaches and officials to improve their skills and competencies.

Act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the sport as a whole.

Ensure that any information acquired or advantage gained from the position is not
used improperly.

Conduct club responsibilities with due care, competence and diligence.
Parents

Encourage your child to participate, do their best and have fun.

Focus on your child's effort and performance, rather than winning or losing.

Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition.

Help out the coach or officials at training and games, where possible.

Model appropriate behaviour, including respect for other players and officials.
Spectators

Respect the effort and performances of players and officials.

Reject the use of harassment, bullying or violence in any form, whether by other
spectators, coaches, officials or athletes.
