IMPLEMENTATION Component: “Blueprint” for Goal #1
School-wide Problem-of-Practice: Our Brigance data show that 81% of students struggle with Language Development such as visual vocabulary
and following directions; and Literacy such as Visual Discrimination (identifying forms and letters) and Visual Motor (copying). Based on end of
year scores, the majority of the students did not master these skills. Teacher expectation on how to address the issues did not match our steps to
College Readiness for Preschool.
SMART Goal #1 Statement: Increase the percent of preschool students demonstrating proficiency as 85% scored on 4 year old Brigance, Pre K
PAST, and preschool skill checklist.
Theories-of-Action: If we focus on Purposeful Planning of Vocabulary, Writing, and Literacy in all centers every day and teachers implement high
effect size instructional strategies then students will demonstrate proficiency in Language Development and Literacy.
