Level 4: Massage
Course Overview
This home study massage course will provide a grounding in all aspects of massage, from
learning the basics of anatomy and skin care through to detailed information on massage
techniques, client consultation, and alternative massage techniques. The extensive section on
the effects and benefits of massage is one of our students' favourites, and the course also
teaches you the necessary business aspects of working both in a salon or for somebody else,
and the considerations you need to take into account. In fact, there is little (if anything!) the
course leaves out; there is no stone left unturned. By the time you complete it you'll be raring
to go!
Entry requirements
A reasonable level of literacy is required, but there are no entry restrictions. You just need a
keen interest in the subject, and will ideally have studied the subject or ancillary disciplines at
a lower level if you want to progress quickly.

Career Prospects
Learners can embark on a career as a professional masseuse. Furthermore, there is the
opportunity to become sports therapists.
When you have successfully completed your studies you will receive a certificate of
achievement in Massage from Focus Awards.
This is a non-regulated qualification which is endorsed by Focus Awards under the FQP
scheme. They are not nationally recognised qualifications; on successful completion of your
studies you will receive a Focus Awards Certificate of Achievement and a Diploma.
