The Knox School, a newly formed school for gifted children is seeking exceptional candidates to develop a distinctive faculty team.

seeking will display a diverse range of qualities, competencies and experience as described below:
Curriculum Coordinator/Lead Teacher (3rd/4th Grade)
Lead Teacher (1st/2nd Grade)
Lead Teacher (5th/6th Grade)
Curriculum Coordinator/Lead Teacher
The combined position of coordinator and lead teacher requires a Master's degree in education or gifted education, with a minimum
of 5 years of primary teaching experience, and three years of supervisory experience in an educational setting. The ideal candidate
will have a high level of awareness of current developments, research, and best practices in the field of primary and elementary
teaching and curriculum design. As a pedagogical leadership position within the team, this faculty member supports teachers to
strengthen their knowledge base and teaching skills in order to ensure the delivery of a project and inquiry-based, trans-disciplinary
program. A commitment of collaborative planning is central to the school's philosophy. The curriculum coordinator has a pivotal role
in the this process to ensure that the standards of implementation are understood, and that the curriculum program is planned,
taught, and assessed collaboratively. Together with the other members of the school's pedagogical leadership team, the coordinator
is responsible for the development of the curriculum program and its school-wide implementation.
Lead Primary Teachers
The successful candidates for this position will be inspirational, passionate, and sensitive educators with the ability to deliver an
inquiry-based, trans-disciplinary program to cultivate cognitive skills, and compassionately honor the affective needs of gifted
students. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in education or gifted education, with three to five years of teaching experience
at the primary and elementary level. An excellent candidate will be an exemplary teacher, motivator, and learner, with strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to respectfully communicate with children, parents, and colleagues. Through differentiated instruction,
and by using a variety of styles and modalities, the successful candidate will be able to inspire mixed-ability classes and create
challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all children. The ideal candidate will have a high level awareness of current
developments, research, and best practices in the field of primary and elementary teaching.
Start date for these positions will be June 1, 2013 and annually contracted for 12 months. Interested applicants should submit a
