At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:
1. Adopt new ways to identify ideal patients with chronic insomnia for either cognitive behavioral
therapy (CBT-I) or pharmacotherapy. Moreover, the participants will learn the appropriate
indications for referral and implementation of CBT-I.
2. Identify the latest evidence-based treatments for sleep disorders, including sleep dentistry, positive
airway pressure therapy, and treatment of circadian rhythm disorder of shift work.
3. Assess the physiological and safety risks for your patients with untreated excessive daytime
sleepiness, particularly as it relates to transportation and shift work.
