Strategic Plan
2014 - 2019
Since its establishment in 1988 Community Gateway has used a
strengths based approach in partnering with people with
disability, people who are frail aged and carers to maximise their
quality of life in the community.
Community Gateway is proud of its independence which allows
it to provide true choice to its clients and deliver quality client
led outcomes. Being a true community based organisation
Community Gateway has developed strong relationships with
government agencies, service providers and community groups.
This allows Community Gateway to be responsive to client needs
and offer customised support approaches in a timely manner.
Community Gateway will remain passionately independent and
connected.
Mission
The leader in
partnering with
people to create and
maintain
independence in
truly inclusive
communities.
The aged care and disability sectors have commenced an unprecedented reform program.
Reform that is aimed squarely at providing choice, control and increased funding to people
with disability and people who are frail aged. Community
Gateway embraces this reform and the benefits it will
bring to participants.
Vision
People achieving
their milestones in
accessible
communities.
Of course reform creates challenges and opportunities
and as an organisation Community Gateway must rise to
the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities
to ensure it remains strong and continues to partner
with people in achieving their milestones and assist in
building inclusive communities.
In preparing this strategic plan Community Gateway has
sought advice from leaders in the sector, held staff and
Board planning consultations and most importantly sought input from our clients through
independent client forums. Thank you to everyone involved.

This 5 year Strategic Plan outlines the pathway for Community Gateway and is themed around
client outcomes, diversification, and a strong and vibrant organisation. It is an ambitious plan
as is required in times of such fundamental reform. However, it is a plan that adheres to
Community Gateway’s core capabilities and focuses on independent people achieving their
milestones in inclusive communities.
