recuse themselves from voting or participating in any of the interviews for that year. Should a Board
member feel for any reason that they would not be able to be objective then they should recuse
themselves from the process. Familiarity with a candidate such as being a neighbor, Scoutmaster,
teacher or other similar relationship shall not disqualify the Board member from their duties unless they
feel that they cannot be objective.
The scholarship applicants will be judged on the merits of their essay alone. The written results of the
evaluations and any notes of discussions leading to the Board’s decision to award the scholarship shall be
maintained for one year by the President of WREN CPR and may upon request be reviewed by any
member of the high school administration at the time of the scholarship award.
By participating in the scholarship process, candidates and their parents agree to the release of their
pictures and names in any WREN CPR publication or advertisement unless they apply for and are granted
an exemption for special circumstances. All submitted essays are the property of WREN CPR; the
candidates and their parents agree to the release of all or part of the essay in any WREN CPR publication
or advertisement. The students also agree to attend a presentation ceremony given by their respective
school.
