Students will create at least one weaving using warm and cool colored paper painted with watercolors, salt, and fabric implementing a pattern (abab, aabb). VA:Cr2-3a. 2. After lesson is complete, students will be able to identify, in writing, the definition of weaving apart from common misconceptions. VA:Re7-3.a 3. Students will be able to identify and apply definition of cool and warm colors by weaving at least 10 cool colored, and 10 warm colored strips of paper. Paper 1: 2 cool colors. Paper 2: 2 warm colors 4. Students create 2 watercolor wash papers using warm and cool colors. Students will add salt to areas to create texture. 5. Read: The Weaver: Ask students questions about the plot, How does this relate to what we are doing? Students will prepare weaving ‘looms’ by folding paper in half and cutting strips, stopping 1 inch before the edges. 2. Students will cut their watercolor papers into 1 inch strips 3. Students will weave together cool colors, warm colors, and fabric (last) using “under over” technique using a pattern.
