We hope you have enjoyed your summer vacation and that you are looking forward to an exciting school year. The school day at PCIS begins at 8:35am and ends at 3:10pm. PCIS Orientation-PCIS Orientation is an opportunity for students to pick up their schedules, tour the building, find out busing information, and have their school pictures taken. Also you will have the opportunity to return completed Parent Authorization Forms, Student Health Information Forms, Internet Usage Forms, pay school fees and pay on lunch accounts. Families of students with last names A-L will be in commons/gym area from 5:00-6:00pm, families of students with last names M-Z will be in academic areas from 5:00-6:00pm. At 6:00 the groups will switch. PCIS Orientation Dates: 6th Grade-Monday, August 10th –5:00pm-7:00pm (1st Floor) 5th Grade-Tuesday, August 11th –5:00pm-7:00pm (2nd Floor) 4th Grade-Wednesday, August 12th—5:00pm-7:00pm (3rd Floor) These days will serve as our Open House for this year, as teachers will be available in their rooms to meet students and parents. Mark your calendar now…….see you then! Parent Authorization Forms-Included in this newsletter, please find a copy of the 2015-16 Parent Authorization Form that must be completed and turned in during orientation. This form is kept on file in the school office and used when it becomes necessary to contact a parent or guardian for any reason. Therefore, it is very important that you notify the office immediately if the information on the form changes during the year. Please be aware that when listing emergency contacts that only those people listed on the Parent Authorization Form will be permitted to sign your child out of the school. If you wish to add or delete someone from the list, you must come to the school. Changes will not be made over the phone. In this newsletter the Student Health Information Form is included. Please be sure to complete this form even if your child has no medical issues. This form will also need returned during orientation. Student Drop Off and Pick-up-Students being dropped off or picked up by parents are to use the front doors by the commons. This is due to the fact that bus students are dropped off and picked up in the north side lot. Thanks for your cooperation with this procedure. Dress Code Reminder-For the benefit of all students, we ask that certain guidelines be followed. Students should wear appropriate shoe attire at all times. Flip flops are not permitted. No see-through clothing will be permitted. Clothing should be size and seasonally appropriate and adequate for outdoor recess at all times. Shorts, skirts and dresses are to be of an appropriate length for school as determined by the principal. School Fees-School fees this year are $40.00 for PCIS students. During orientation full or partial payments will be accepted. Pictures, Pictures, Pictures-In an effort to better serve the students of PCIS, school pictures will be taken during orientation on August 10, 11, & 12. This will eliminate pictures being taken in the fall during school. Picture information will be mailed by Lange Photography to students’ residences. Packet information is also available on the PCIS website. Retakes have been scheduled for October 22nd.
