Carver High School Alumni Association Scholarship
A $500 annual scholarship will be awarded to two eligible high school students.
Eligibility: C average or better; must be accepted and plan to attend postsecondary institution in fall; applicant’s parent,
grandparent or ancestor must have attended Carver Elementary School or graduated from Carver High School (presently Dr.
Ronald E. McNair Junior High School) or any of a list of the following former schools: Lake City (colored) High School,
Gaskins, Liberty, St. Luke, Cypress Grove, etc.

Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Scholarship Program, Sixth Congressional District
The CBC Scholarship Fund Program assists with tuition costs in an effort to enable minority students to obtain a college degree.
Eligibility: GPA 2.5/4.0, academic achievement, leadership, community service, financial need

$500 scholarship awarded by the Cooper family

Jane E. Hunter Scholarship
This scholarship was established to provide need- based financial assistance for full-time minority undergraduate women under
the age of 30, who are residents of South Carolina and Ohio.

Joseph C Rodgers Memorial Fund Scholarship
The Joseph C. Rodgers Scholarship Foundation was established after the death of Deputy Joey Rodgers on April 9, 1997. Joey
was killed in the line of duty while apprehending a double murder suspect in Florence. Eligibility: actively participate as a
volunteer for a community service organization or pursue a degree in a criminal justice or related field, GPA minimum 2.5,
academic achievement and financial need considered

LC McFadden Book Club Scholarship
A $300 annual scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who has been accepted and plans to attend South Carolina
State University.
Eligibility: GPA minimum 2.85, acceptance letter from SC State University

Dr. Ronald E. McNair Memorial Scholarship Program
Eligibility: above average achievement in high school including academic and extracurricular involvement, rank in top 25% of
graduating class, SAT 950 or ACT 20, GPA of 3.5, 3.5 average in five science courses, acceptance by postsecondary institution
Applications are available after December 15 in guidance.
Deadline: April 12 for receipt by Ron McNair Scholarship Selection Committee
Rudolph Canzater Memorial Scholarship (for residents of the 6th congressional district, James E. Clyburn Research &
Scholarship Foundation) The Rudolph Canzater Memorial Golf Classic generates proceeds to help fund college scholarships for

South Carolina Conference of Black Mayors Scholarship
The South Carolina Conference of Black Mayors is offering two $1000 scholarships to two students who reside in districts where
the mayor is a member of the South Carolina Conference of Black Mayors.
Essay Topic: “If you were President or a Member of Congress, what would you do to put unemployed Americans back to
work?”
Eligibility: 85 average or above, essay, financial need

South Carolina State Fair Scholarship
The South Carolina State Fair offers scholarships for graduating seniors. Fifty selected seniors will be awarded scholarships for
attendance at South Carolina two-year and four-year schools.
Eligibility: need, academic and extra-curricular achievement, communication skills, and aptitude for completion of application
