Application for a Multiple Consignment Authority to import, export or re-export wildlife or wildlife
products under Part 13A of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999

Important notes
 There are severe penalties for knowingly making false or misleading statements in this application.
 Many transactions relating to wildlife and wildlife products may require clearance from Department of Agriculture, Fisheries
and Forestry (DAFF)) and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Customs). Please contact DAFF and
Customs in your State or Territory for information on quarantine and Customs controls.
 The Legislation stipulates applications, with all completed information, must be processed within 40 business days of receipt.
 Applications that are incomplete or contain insufficient information cannot be processed. Delays will occur whilst further
information is sought from the applicant.

 If an Authority is required, do not attempt to export/import without first obtaining your Authority otherwise your specimens may
be seized.



Import Multiple Consignment Authority: For items that are being imported from Overseas.
In order to apply for a Multiple Consignment Authority for import you will be required to submit copies of the Convention on
International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) export permits from the country of origin for each and
every specimen you wish to import over the permitted period.
Export Multiple Consignment Authority: For items that have been sourced legally from within Australia
In order to apply for a Multiple Consignment Authority for Export you will need to provide documentation as evidence that the
specimens you wish to export have been legally obtained from an approved source.
Re-export Multiple Consignment Authority: For items that have previously been imported into Australia.
In order to apply for a Multiple Consignment Authority for Re-export you will need to provide the Australian Import Permit for every
specimen you wish to export over the permitted period and the export/re-export permits from the relevant overseas CITES
Management Authority for all consignments that were imported under the corresponding import permits.
For people applying to renew an expiring Multiple Consignment Authority
 Any unused Specimen Export Record (SER) forms for export or re-export may be kept when renewing an Authority. When
you apply you will need to specify the SER numbers that you would like transferred to the new Authority.


 This application, and supporting documents, may be faxed or emailed using the details below in order to facilitate the
processing of the application, but an Authority will not be issued until the application fee has been received.
 Please note that if you are paying by credit card, a faxed copy of your application and supporting documentation will be
sufficient.



Please ensure that, where applicable, you attach copies of:
Overseas CITES permits for each specimen you wish to ship under a Multiple Consignment Authority for Import or Re-export.
 Proof of legal acquisition of the specimen (e.g. state collection permit).
 Any relevant documents referred to in Question 22.
 You will also need to complete an extra subject-specific attachment if instructed to do so in Questions 15 and 19.
 You may be audited so please keep copies/records to verify sources of specimens.
