Unit Title: Creating and Producing Music Using Production Software
This unit is designed to provide vocational skills in production software to create music for students at Entry 1, 2 and 3.
Learners will gain an understanding of the importance health and safety in the workplace. They will also learn about
environmental issues relating to the music issues. Learners will have the opportunity to learn about the use of simple loop
sequencers in creating popular music. They will also investigate the career opportunities within the music industry.
The unit includes:
 Health and safety in the workplace relevant to the music industry
 Careers opportunities in the music industry relevant to using production software
 Consideration of environmental issues relevant to the music industry
 Using a simple loop sequencer, such as GarageBand
 Learning about common musical structures
 Creation of a piece of music
