BERLIN
Love God. Love Others. Make Disciples.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under
heaven.
— Ecclesiastes 3:1
Along our Berlin journey, we have experienced times of great joy and times of great
heartache ranging from Eric's mom passing away to Gethro's homecoming and the
recent births of a niece and nephew. And throughout these twists and turns the big
question in our own mind and the question on most peoples' lips is, "When are you
leaving for Berlin?" We are sensing that the time of waiting is nearly over.
Spring is Coming
By this time of year, most of us are yearning for Spring. While it might not look like
Spring, there are signs that it's on its way.
Our journey to Berlin is also approaching a new season. We've seen two big prayer
requests answered. Give thanks with us! Gethro's certificate of citizenship arrived,
and we have applied for his U.S. passport. We are now free to travel outside the
U.S. as a family.
Also, Ethan has been accepted by the John F. Kennedy School (German/American,
bilingual public school) for the 2015-2016 school year. This school has been difficult
to get into lately. We toured this school on our vision trip, and it is our first choice of
schools for Ethan and Micah.
We have to be in Berlin and able to prove residency by August to keep Ethan's
school spot. Considering the time it takes to find an apartment and get residency, we
need to be in Berlin by late Spring. We feel God has given us this goal to energize
and motivate the remainder of our journey.
Partnership Update
Our departure depends upon God's people being led to join in partnership with
us. Here are the partners God has provided:
833 - Subscribers to our monthly newsletter (about 1/2 of which read any given
newsletter)
40 - Core prayer team members
14 - Ongoing church partnerships
87 - On-going individual/family partners
56 - One time givers (churches and individuals)
Here is some of what God is doing through our partners: God has provided all
of our start-up costs, and we are now at
88%
of our on-going monthly financial needs! He has shown us generous hearts and
caring prayer warriors. He has provided food, shelter, and health care - even during
this time of transition.
Here is the remaining need: 15 giving partnerships at $100 per month
Many people are able to give less than $100/month. Some are able to give more.
The actual amount per giver, whatever it is, it always greatly appreciated. Breaking it
into $100 segments just helps us see how narrow the gap between us and Berlin
really is. God can help us cross it at any time.
Departure Date
So back to the million dollar question, "When are we leaving for Berlin?" When we
reach 95% of our monthly budget (just 7% more), we can purchase plane tickets and
set a date for our Berlin arrival. We're only 12% away from being in the next team
picture. Here's a look at most of the Berlin team currently residing in the city.
Pray with Us


Will you continue to pray that God would raise up the remaining monthly,
quarterly, or yearly givers we need?
Pray that God would raise up people to help open opportunities for us to
share (inviting us to share with them, a small group, a group of friends over a
meal or coffee, etc.) We can share over Skype or Google Hangout too!
For God to provide the right school in Berlin for Micah and Gethro.
For a Spring arrival in Berlin, and an apartment by August to ensure Ethan's

spot at the JFK school.
