Education: Preclinical and Clinical Studies at Karolinska Institute/Hospital (KI/KS).
1975: MD at KI.
1984: Certified Specialist in Gynaecology & Obstetrics.
1991: Certified Specialist in Gynaecological Oncology.
1997: Ph.D. Thesis at KI – “ Primary fallopian tube cancer –a clinical, histopathological, biological , and
prognostic study”.
Working Experience:
1984-1990: Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Nacka Hospital, Huddinge University
Hospital, Stockholm.
2001: Assoc.Prof.
1990 to date: Department of Gynaecological Oncology, Radiumhemmet, Karolinska
University Hospital, Stockholm.
Predominantly working as a clinician with cervical cancer, using external radiotherapy and
brachytherapy treatment. I have been responsible for the development work concerning
radiotherapy at our Department of Gynecological Oncology for many years.
International Appointments: Member of National and International Associations in
Gynaecological Oncology and National Gynaecology & Obstetrics.
Research: I collaborate with several groups in clinical translational research work mostly
focused on cervical cancer in different aspects since the middle of 1990s. Working in celland molecular-biological research, as well as to optimize the diagnosis of and tumor response
in cervical cancer with imaging examination.
Research publication:
Research has been published in approx.40 publications in international peer-reviewed
journals.
Co-supervisor for a Ph.D thesis in biomedical research on ca vaginae 2005.
Co-supervisor for a Ph.D student research on MRT and cervical cancer.
