Trade seems to have seen its peak, as schools begin to break up and summer holidays loom. The edge just seemed off trade today from the heady heights seen over the past couple of months, however averages don’t always tell the story, in that the quality of cattle forward on the day reflected more on the prices achieved rather than trade slipping too much. Half meated dairy cows continued to fly today with plenty of cows in the 110’s and 120’s looking particularly well sold. If your cows are ready better to sell now rather than in a few weeks!! Cows peaked at £1100 (88mo) for H Jones, Dodleston or 139ppk (51mo) for A W Studley. With H Heath of Cotebrook taking top stop with a heifer at 158ppk. More cattle required each week, with guaranteed payment on the day if you collect. Where else can you receive quicker payment and the trade? Contact Simon on 07815 188125 Today’s market average (mostly black and white), coming in at 107.2ppk or £685.23 per head. (Everything in, including the lean, mean, lame and loopy!) Dairies bred cows averaging 106.7 pence or £669.03 per life. Black and white cows traded throughout the day at 122p to 135p for meated cows, 108p to 120p for steakers, 88p to 100p for stronger plain cows and 70p to 85p for the bottom end! Continentals peaked at 139p or £1011, natives 129p or £1033, dairy bred to 158p or £1100 and Bulls 129p or £1254 PAYMENT ON THE DAY FOR ALL LIVESTOCK SOLD AT OUR WEEKLY SALES! MORE CATTLE NEEDED EACH WEEK, DON’T MISS THE TRADE. Contact SIMON LAMB for further details on marketing your cattle.
