Proposal: 0 Conference 1 Discussion: List of Resources: 5 5 Conference 2 Evaluation Scheme: Outline of Product: Final Product(s): 0 10 70 Follow-up discussion: Self evaluation: 5 5 TOTAL: 100 When deciding on your topic for your music ISU, consider the following questions: -What do I like to do? -What am I good at? -What am I interested in? Choose a topic that will provide an opportunity for your personal musical growth. Consider choosing a subject that you know nothing about but have always been interested in. Or choose a subject that you already know about but wish to explore in greater depth. If you like to perform, choose a performance based topic. If you like to perform in groups but not on your own, put a group together. If you are good at essay writing, write an essay. Take the time to put lots of thought into your ISU topic so that it is interesting and enjoyable for you. Most students choose to do a presentation or performance. Should choose to you do this, be aware that research is still expected as well as some form of product (powerpoint, handout, video, visual aid) that summarizes your key points. The most successful presentations tend to take the approach of teaching something to the class, especially something skill based or handson. This helps to keep the class engaged because they are learning. The more interactive you can make your presentation, the easier it will be to keep everyones attention.
