and drawing boards. You may wish to include some form of easy clean up in your supplies – paper

Introduction to Watercolor: Basic, Hands-On Class
Drawing paper
Foam core or plexiglass sheet, about 14 x 18” to tape down your watercolor paper.
Small container for water.
If you do not already have a book shelf full of ‘how to paint’ books, you might want to consider ‘The
Watercolor Book’ by David Dewey. It’s as good as any and better than most. It is out of print….but used
copies are always available for $20-30 at Amazon.com.
Abstracting From Nature: Tools and Techniques
All Levels (not suggested for beginning painter) – 2015/5-P2

Recommended paint colors:
Titanium White, Mars Black, Cadmium Yellow Med, Cadmium Yellow Lt (Lemon Yellow), Cerulean Blue,
Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red Med, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Umber, Burnt Siena.
Variety synthetic white nylon bristle brushes - 1/2, 3/4, and 1" flats and filberts work best.
Sponges, palette knives, rags are good for layering paint
Odorless turpenoid and walnut or linseed oil for oil painters.
Disposable palette pad (white plastic trays won't work with acrylic)
Variety of surfaces may include: canvas panels, prepared boards or stretched canvas:
8 x10, 9 x 12, 11 x 14” and 8 x 8" square are good.
