President, Varanidex Inc.
June 92 - present
Varanidex specializes in Quality Assurance monitoring of x-ray machines. Ontario and federal
legislation requires that diagnostic x-ray machines have regular checks on various operating
parameters. Varanidex supplies these checks to more than 350 clients throughout Ontario,
specializing in the dental community. Duties involve interacting with clients, database management
and technical measurements of x-ray energy.

Geologist/Geophysicist
AECL, Whiteshell Labs
Pinawa, MB
Mar. 82 - May 92
Supervisors : C. Davison, G. Lodha
Used a variety of sophisticated geophysical equipment to develop techniques to characterize the
rockmass in the Canadian Shield as part of the Canadian Nuclear Fuel Waste Management
Program. Ground probing radar was used to detect fracures behind rockfaces underground and
sonar was used to map lake bottom topography and to charcterize the sediments on the lake
bottoms. Duties included acquiring the equipment, planning the surveys, processing the data and
publishing the results. Other duties while at AECL involved travelling to high schools across
western Canada to discuss nuclear energy issues
