The Milford Tennis and Squash Club Annual Tennis
Championships.
Finals day had been moved this year to a later date, this was to
accommodate the clubs rebuild, (now to be finished January
2011), the tournament has always had a sun drenched finals
day in July, as for this year it looked like a different drenching
we would get…
The Championships had been a high standard throughout,
some great clashes seen in the earlier rounds.
From 930am on Saturday 11th to 6pm that eve, there was a lot
of tennis played throughout the day, with records be broken
and pain barriers…it was great tennis starting early with the
over 60s, new young faces seen in main draw consolation
finals , and concluding with main draw finals bringing tense and
long thrillers, finishing in glorious sun and a packed crowd
enjoying many refreshments on offer…
Many thanks go to all, catering , umpires, awards committee ,
photographers, and excited spectators…
Open Day Saturday 25th ..
Minis 4yrs -10yrs 9am – 12pm
Adult rusty racquets 12pm-2pm
Club tennis 2pm-5pm
Come play for free on the day meet members and coaches..
