ITEC/2014-15 High Commission of India Port Louis Dated: 30.09.2014 Sub : Golden Jubilee of ITEC – Reaching out to ITEC Alumni. The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation [ITEC] programme is the flagship capacity building programme of the Government of India, training thousands of foreign officials in India every year, a large number of them being from Mauritius. ITEC has been most important vehicle for sharing our knowledge, skill and expertise with the rest of the world and has acquired a strong brand name in our developmental partnership. The ITEC programme started on 15th September 1964 and thus ITEC completes 50 years this year. It has been decided to celebrate this important milestone with large participation from ITEC alumni in an event scheduled to be held sometime in 3 rd week of November. 2. It has been decided that the High Commission of India will take out a compilation of memoirs of the participants “ITEC-INDIA REFLECTIONS YEAR …..” for each completed year. This compilation would contain essential details of the participants including photograph, their hobbies/ special interests including interests in sports, few self-introductory lines about the participant, their impressions about India and ITEC programme. We also plan to include in it any interesting article/short story/ photograph/ sketch/ poem etc. submitted by the participant. A copy of these reflections will be given to the participants on the ITEC Day. Also selected 10 entries for the Memoirs would be given suitably rewarded on the ITEC Day. A form seeking these inputs is enclosed. This form is also available on the website of the Mission www.indianhicom-mauritius.org and on its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/hciportlouis . It is requested that the inputs may be mailed to hicomeco@intnet.mu or hard copy may be sent to the mission as early as possible and preferably by the 15th of October, 2014. 3. On ITEC day, the Mission will also organize a cultural programme wherein ITEC participants/ their family members would lead on the stage. In case you wish to participate in the cultural programme please send details as to how you/your family members would like to participate. 4.
