Current Vaccinations:
All vaccines must be given by a licensed veterinarian and proof of said vaccinations shall be provided
to the Spa at Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook prior to your first grooming appointment. The Spa
reserves the right to deny grooming services to any dog or cat not up-to-date on their vaccinations.
Puppies may have their first grooming experience after they have received their final set of

Fleas and Ticks:
Please remember that parasites are a health hazard to your pet as well as to humans. We will alert
you to the presence of fleas and ticks as they can quickly invade your home, making eradication
difficult. If necessary, guests will be treated with Comfortis, an oral flea preventative for a fee.
Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs or Cats:
We ask that you inform our staff if your pet has a tendency to bite, become aggressive, or does not
like certain grooming procedures. We reserve the right to refuse or stop services for your pet at any
time before or during the grooming process and charge an additional fee should your pet become
aggressive during the grooming process. If your pet should bite, the owner agrees to be responsible
for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income, and equipment damage. Please
keep in mind that an animal bite can be a serious injury. We take all precautions to ensure the safety
of your pet as well as the safety of our staff.
Medications and Tranquilizers:
If your veterinarian recommends a stress reducing tranquilizer be given prior to grooming or bathing,
we suggest that all medications be given at home prior to bringing your pet to the Spa. We will not
be held responsible for any adverse reaction or illness which may result from the administration of
any medication or tranquilizer given by the owner prior to grooming or bathing.
Health, Medical Problems, and Senior Pets:
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior or ill pet. This stress can
expose hidden or pre-existing problems or aggravate a current problem during or after grooming.
The presence of an overgrown coat or severe matting can mask skin disorders, such as infection
and/or hot spots. We will call you should the groomer feel that your dog’s coat or skin problem
requires additional treatment. The Spa at Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook will make every effort to
ensure the grooming experience is as relaxing as possible and will watch for any signs of stress. If, at
any time, your pet should need immediate veterinary attention, we will do our best to contact you
(the owner). If necessary our on-site veterinarians will treat immediately. By signing this agreement,
the Spa has permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet if deemed necessary.
Any charges related to such treatment shall be paid by the owner.
Unexpected Injuries:
Grooming equipment is sharp and even though we use extreme caution and care at all times,
possible injuries could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, and razor burn. In most cases, this
occurs when a pet is moving or if the hair coat is excessively dirty or matted. If veterinary care is
needed, we will advise you of the best course of action.
No Shows and Cancellations:
A confirmation call will be made for all grooming appointments the day prior. We ask for a minimum
of 24 hour notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. This allows us to accommodate other
clients if possible. If 24 hours notice is not given or if contact it not made (no-show), the client may
be billed for the normal grooming charge.
Media Usage
The Inn and Spa at Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook will, at times, take photographs and/or
videos of our guests to share. The owner consents to the use of all photographs and videos of
their pet taken while at the Inn and Spa in any of our promotional materials and compensation is
not provided. These may include, but are not limited to, publications, advertisements, Facebook,
and Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook website.
Hold Harmless Agreement:
By signing this contract, you agree to hold the Spa at Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook and its
owners, and staff harmless for any damages or claims arising from any condition of the undersigned
pet(s), either known or unknown to the Spa at Animal Hospital of Old Saybrook. It is also further
understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will
