The group performs over 1800 hip and knee reconstructive procedures annually and is the regional referral center for complex hip and knee revision cases. Common procedures performed by the Hamilton Arthroplasty Group include primary hip and knee arthroplasty, revision hip and knee arthroplasty, hip resurfacing, unicondylar knee arthroplasty, patellofemoral knee arthroplasty hip fracture care and knee arthroscopy. Fellows will be responsible for the surgical and non-surgical aspects of patient care, including ward and follow-up clinic responsibilities. The fellow will attend 2-3 OR sessions per week and 1-2 clinics with dedicated research time every week. A publication ready research project will be produced with the help of the Hamilton Arthroplasty Group research team. A large database of arthroplasty outcome data is available for research projects. The OTS runs 5 dedicated orthopaedic trauma rooms per week in addition to after hours and weekend emergency work. The OTS manages all aspects of appendicular, pelvic and acetabular trauma.
