Part 1 Part I. Criterion D: I can speak about a famous person using a basic range of
vocabulary; I can speak, pronounce and use correct intonation to make myself
understood.

You are a reporter. You are going to prepare 10 questions to ask a person that you
know / researched who is from a French/Spanish speaking country. It can be a
celebrity, a sportsperson, a singer, an actor, a writer, a musician, an artist or a
painter.

You will ask questions on personal information (name, age, birthday, phone number,
nationality, type of accommodation where he/she lives, country and city where they
live, the weather.

You are interested in finding out more about the weather conditions in the country
where the person lives.

You will prepare a weather report about the city where the person lives.
Include the four seasons and the weather patterns for all four seasons.



The project can be done either as a digital project using Key notes, Digital
storytelling, Google Slides, Prezi or as a poster.
You will present your project to your peers in a group orally.
Your presentation must include:
 All information must be in French.
 A title with the name of your celebrity.
 An introduction including the person’s name and occupation
 The ten questions to the celebrity and his/her responses
 The weather report on the four seasons and weather patterns (see class example)

Maps, pictures to make your project alive!
NB: You will also present your celebrity to your peers who will assess your
work as a group. (speaking assessment)
Part II.
Criterion C: I can respond to simple short phrases and basic information about my
chosen celebrity in speaking.
Part A – You will:






Answer 5 questions in 3 minutes using Google Voice.
Be prepared to answer any of the 10 questions. The Google voice message will tell
you which questions to answer.
Start the recording after the beep: say your name, class the name of the celebrity’
name.
You will practice in class before recording yourself. All recordings must be done in
class under supervision.
No notes allowed for the recording.
Dial the number given to you and record your answers after the beep.
You can only call the Google Voice number twice!
Part B  You will write a paragraph in English to reflect on how discovering a new
language and culture has helped you to make connections with your own.
 You will reflect on how widely spread and influential the French language is
around the world.
Teacher will assess the content and the appropriateness of the answers following the
rubric.
You should be familiar with them by now since they are the same as the ones used all through
Unit 1.
Remember: The more detailed, precise and correct you are in both writing and speaking, the
higher you will score in the rubric.
