Listed below is information the selection committee will consider for Hinds Career Center scholarship
opportunities. It is important that all items be included and submitted to the Career Center Director in the
order listed below.
1. COMPLETE THE APPLICATION.
2. PREPARE A PROFESSIONAL RESUME.
3. PREPARE A PERSONAL AUTOBIOGRAPHY.
Its purpose is to provide the scholarship committee with insight into your personality and chosen
opportunities. It is to be no more than two pages in length. Address, at minimum, the points of emphasis
listed below and expand on items in resume (not just re-list them). If the scholarship to which you are
applying addresses a specific qualification or requirement, be sure to address that in the writing, also.

Note: Provide each reference a copy of the attached form. Each reference must be placed in a sealed
envelope by the person completing the reference and the reference must sign across the seal of the
envelope.
