Graduate Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer

JOB PURPOSE
ETL are offering opportunities to join our design engineering team. We encourage our engineers to use their
creative and engineering skills in order to develop products that meet our ambitious technical, cost and time
requirements. We are looking for innovative, passionate and determined graduate engineers to help us
develop new “best in class” cutting edge products. In addition to maintaining a catalogue of existing
established products.
ROLE DIMENSIONS
This role requires working within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design high quality, high speed, low
noise analogue and RF printed circuit boards and assemblies in accordance with engineering, mechanical and
company requirements and processes.
This role will also be to develop circuits and schematics and then produce PCB layouts and
manufacturing/assembly data packages for a variety of RF products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
This graduate position will be fully supported by a training program. A mentor will be assigned to the graduate
and provide guidance while the graduate works towards taking on the responsibilities and accountabilities
listed below:
Working with Electronic/ RF Engineers to develop circuits and schematics.
CAD library administration including symbol, footprint generation and database administration
Design single sided, double sided and multi-layered PCB’s using industry standard techniques, ensuring
consideration for DFM/DFT have been made
Designing PCBs in accordance with agreed project time, cost, quality and performance requirements.
Creation and maintenance of enterprise data packs
Creation of 3D models and assemblies from 2D layouts
Liaising closely with other engineers to create robust designs
Liaising with the manufacturing team for procurement and transfer of documentation
Contributing to continual process improvement within the PCB layout function

Manipulation of Gerber files

Knowledgeable in CAD packages (Altium / Solid Works)

Skills
SMPS (switch mode power supplies) – knowledge of layout techniques

Experience of mains potential voltage for PCB design

Currents of up to 30A for PCB design

RF design transmission line techniques for PCB design

High speed layout techniques for differential pair and serial communications
