Gives 70 select students a first-hand
view of Appalachian. Students will
experience campus, learn about their
academic programs, merit-based
scholarships, engage with faculty,
meet current students, and apply for
admission. Must have a 3.7 GPA,
1100 SAT (CR & M), 22 ACT.
Students can be considered based on
weighted GPA alone.
The QuestBridge National College
Match helps outstanding low-income
high school seniors gain admission
and full four-year scholarships to
some of the nation's most selective
colleges. Students must demonstrate
financial need.

projects in the competition. This
competition rewards students for
developing and demonstrating their
talent for scientific research and as
such it focuses primarily on the
scientific merit of each student's
research project.
Park scholarship includes a four-year
scholarship ($80,000 in-state,
$136,000 out-of-state) covering
tuition and fees, room and board,
books and supplies, and travel and
personal expenses. Park Scholars are
selected on four criteria: scholarship,
leadership, service, and

The Morehead Scholarship is a fouryear scholarship that includes full

The Foundation seeks high school
seniors who possess exceptional
ability in leadership and
scholarship and who show
promise of making a significant
contribution to the University
community as students and to
society at large as graduates. DHS
may nominate two seniors for this
opportunity.
The Ron Brown Scholar Program
seeks to identify African-American
high school seniors who will make
significant contributions to society.
Applicants must excel
academically, exhibit exceptional
leadership potential, participate in
community service activities and
demonstrate financial need. A
minimum of ten students will be
designated Ron Brown Scholars
and will receive $10,000 annually
for four years, for a total of
$40,000.
If you apply to Carolina by Nov. 1,
you will automatically be considered
for the Pogue Scholarship. The
Pogue place special emphasis on
minority applicants who, in addition
to solid academic performance and
strong leadership potential,
demonstrate an abiding commitment
to their local communities and
embrace diversity as a
value. Scholarship provides a
renewable award of $7,500 for N.C.
recipient.
The Voice of Democracy Essay
Contest is sponsored by the Veterans
of Foreign Wars of the United States
(VFW). The audio essay contest is
open to high school students in
grades 9-12. The first-place national
winner receives a $25,000
scholarship. The essay topics always
involve a patriotic theme.
If you've made a difference through
volunteering over the past year, you
could win $1,000 and a trip to
Washington, D.C., next May
Applicants are students that have
engaged in an activity that occurred
at least partly during the 12 months
prior to the date of application.

Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to an entering
freshman, and is valued at $10,000
per year. Applications should
include a description of academic,

extracurricular activities, Responses

Provides full tuition, room and
board, and mandatory fees for

Scholarship awards vary between

This scholarship represents the
Alumni Association’s pledge to assist
the University in attracting quality
students. Minimum qualifications

in scholarships to qualified students

Elon University
Presidential Scholarships of up to
$4,500 annually are awarded to
approximately the top 15 percent of
entering first-year students each year.
The awards are based on high school
course selection, class rank, grades
and SAT/ACT scores. No separate
application is needed.
Scholarships are automatically awarded to
students who meet the necessary criteria when
the completed admissions application is
reviewed. Presidential Scholarships are
renewable each year pending acceptable
