All core and concentration courses for the Child and Adolescent Development major must be taken for a letter grade (except
for internship which is offered only for CR/NC).

A grade of C or better is required for all courses in the major. Includes courses transferred from other colleges.

CAD 210 and CAD 260 (or community college equivalents) must be completed with grade of C or better and ENG 214 (or
community college equivalent) must be completed with a grade of C- or better before enrollment in CAD 410, CAD 450, 460,
CAD 625 and CAD 650. No concurrent enrollment allowed. Proof of community college equivalent courses is required.

CAD 410 must be completed with grade of C or better and ENG 214 with grade of C- or better before enrollment in CAD
500GW. No concurrent enrollment allowed. Proof of community college equivalent for ENG 214 is required.

Internships take place the final semester of the senior year. To apply for Internship the application must be submitted one
semester prior to the student’s final semester. See CAD website for specific deadline dates. http://cad.sfsu.edu Minimum of
30 units must be completed in CAD core & concentration prior to start of internship. Includes all core Foundations courses and
CAD 215 (or equivalent) in the EC concentration.
Course Numbering – Courses numbered between100-299 are Lower Division courses. Courses numbered between 300-699 are
Upper Division courses. Lower Division courses cannot be used in substitution for Upper Division courses.
