My interview experience in TR

sir- "yeah, sit"
me- "good evening sir"
sir - "introduce yourself."
me- introduced.
sir - gives a series..."next num?"
Me - think for 10 sec, got the logic but i was little nervous
so instead of subtracing, I added 30 to previous num to get the next num
"sir, here it is.."
sir - smiles, "hmm, so fast hun...by the way the series was decreasing"..again smiles
me - ohh..(thinks what am I doing ..:p)
sir - "ok next series...next num?"
me - just within 5 sec " Sir, here it is" now I was sure that I didn't make any silly mistake.
sir - "hmm , again very fast...smiles"
sir - whats modulation?
me - answered it
sir - "Kinds of AM?"
me - "DSB, SSB and VSB"
sir - "have you ever heard about -square law modulator and switching modulator?"
me - "yes sir, this is this is types of generation of AM"..(now I realized that
in previous question he wanted this answer, although I was totally right)
Sir - "Advantages of DSB-SC?"
me - "main advantage is power saving due to no carrier transmission"..
(I realized that he didn't get me cuz of his reaction, but I was correct.)
Sir - "law of mass action?"
me - gave complete definition and then the equation (he didnt listen a word seriously
was busy in his laptop)
Sir - "uh, what..i don't want equation give me the definition"
me - again repeated same things.
Sir - "Hall effect?"
me - gave thorough definition
Sir - apps of hall effect?
me - answered (was sure that they were absolutely correct)
Sir - "Compending?"
me - "sorry sir, I dont know"
Sir - "registers in 8085?"
me - I was notifying all the registers to him one by one and didn't even completed and ..suddenly..
Sir - "what about PC and SP?"
me - "those are also registers"
Sir - "why didn't you say that?"
Me - (thinks myself *did you even listen my complete answer*)..said "i was just coming on them"
(some snacks come)
Sir - offers me snacks.
me - "no, thank you Sir"
Sir - "no no , take 'em..feel free"
me - smiles...."no sir, thank you so much"..
(I was so hungry, wanted to grab 'em ...LOL..:p)
(now, he started to eat in front of me and start questioning..
Sir - "16 bit register in 8085?"
me - "SP, PC and BC, DE, HL as pairs"
Sir - "what is stack pointer?"
Me- - explained.
Sir - "software interrupts in 8085?"
me - "RST 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7"
Sir - 8,9,10...
me - "No sir, only till 7."
Sir - 7?
me - yes
Sir - "there are 7 software interrupts?"
me - "no, from 0 to 7 total 8 software interrupts"
Sir - "early effect and punch through?"
Me - started from BJT given complete explanation
Sir - BJT is a Voltage controlled no?
Me - "no, its current controlled"
Sir - "your project?"
me - explained complete project and its apps
Sir - " write a program on leap year?"
me - " wrote the program"
Sir - "ewww, whats this!!!, I dont think its correct"
me - "took many examples including century years and proved that this is correct"
(I was sure that my program was right as I have made the same before)
(but still he didnt seem to be satisfied)
Sir - " how you will find a num from a given series?"
me - explained Binary search.
Sir - gives a previously written program on a paper by any previous candidate
"what is the output?"
me - (an "if statement" was there in the program and was ended with a semicolon, and the semicolon
was circled)
I thought that this semicolon is included in the program
and answered accordingly.
Sir - Smiles, ok you can go.
(i realized that, that something's wrong. may be semicolon should not be included..:/)
I was sure enough that i would definitely get call for HR and MR.
I was waiting desperately.
But I didnt get call.(my interview was held around 7 pm).
I really was too disappointed as I didnt even get the chance to show myself.
So, this was my story....
The thing that really made me victim of not getting HR and MR was-
- I was Last candidate in my TR panel...almost all the last candidates didnt get HR, MR call.
Tip- Try to go for TR as soon as possible.
(I am not saying that Last candidate wont get call but probability of not getting is more)
- didnt able to predict what he really wanted to listen.
(although I was completely correct in my views but may be not in his view)
Tip- think and answer smartly.
(although i also tried the same.. but you try to be more smarter..
Wish, I would have taken those snacks at least....(dont try to do so..:P)
