Farm is about 20 minutes from Bridgewater.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Activities: Meet farmers that produce beef in Lunenburg County. Tour the farm, viewing
rotational grazing of cow/calves on grass (approximately 30 cow/calf pairs) and a wrapped
hay/haylage demonstration. This beef is raised for the consumer and farm markets with no
growth hormones or chemicals.

Activities: Take a walking tour of the farm yard viewing the sheep, rabbits and chickens. There
will also be a wagon ride to check out the cows, Ducks Unlimited ponds and wetlands and the
new Adopt-A-Stream projects. We will be able to answer questions about farm, woodlot and
Christmas tree U-cut.
9. Watershed Farm

Directions to Farm: From the 103 Hwy take Exit 13 and head away from Bridgewater towards
Baker Settlement. Stay on the 325 for approx. 13 km. Turn right onto Monk Rd., then turn right
again on Allen Frausel Rd. Look for blue wooden bin on left side. Park below sign & walk up to
the top of the hill.
Hours: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Activities: Come see our flock of mixed heritage breed sheep, our free-range chickens and our
bee hives and learn about our rotational grazing method. Visit our greenhouses, caterpillar
tunnels & gardens to see how we use biodynamic principles to grow our crops. Learn how we
use our wind generator, solar panels, cisterns and straw bale buildings to conserve energy use.
Drinks, refreshments and produce are available.
10. Chestnut Hill Farm

Activities: Visit our pastured pigs and some of our grass-fed cows with lots of information about

Activities: There will be tours every 20 mins of the animals, gardens and greenhouses. Interact
with baby animals; we have pigs, rabbits, chickens & ducks. See demonstrations on soil
enhancement, permaculture techniques, soil and seed displays. Learn about multi-cropping. We
will also have picnic area and play area for families and children. Coffee & tea are free. Baked
goods, snacks, juice, water and more are available for purchase. Our organic farm store will be
open as well.

Directions to Farm: From Pictou or Tatamagouche, travel on Hwy 6 and watch for Louisville Rd.,
just west of River John. We are first farm on right. Watch for signs. If coming from Truro on Hwy
311, turn right at Earltown on Hwy 326, conitnue through Denmark, watch for our signs. Turn
right at the top of Lousiville Rd.
Hours: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Activities: Our barn is open with sheep and lambs to see. Display with the story of wool.
Highland cows in the field. Free wagon rides, lamb sausage bbq, wool shop open. River John
Farmer's Market on site from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with vendors with produce, baking, flowers,
herbs, & crafts.
