We have received funding to deliver an innovative new project in East Hertfordshire that will enable people living with dementia to live well in their own home. This will be achieved through adjustments to their home environment to ensure it is as supportive as possible in creating independence in a safe and healthy way. Such adjustments may involve improved lighting, painting internal walls/doors using appropriate colour differentiation, using colour differentiation for objects creating distinction and definition for everyday household items, label cupboards and objects with pictures and words so that they can be identified, removing visual clutter and distractions such as carpets with floral patterns.
