President: Open to any senior 4-H member that has been in 4-H for at least one year. It is highly recommended to have
served at least one year on the officer team prior to running for president.
Vice-President: Open to any senior 4-H member that has been in 4-H at least one year. Vice President will conduct
Officer Team activities & meetings in the President’s absence. VP will also oversee all committees.
Secretary: Open to any last year intermediate or senior age 4-H member (13 to 19 years old) that has been in 4-H at
least one year. Secretary will take the minutes of each meeting and e-mail them to Officer Team members.
Treasurer: Open to any last year intermediate or senior age 4-H member (13 to 19 years old) that has been in 4-H at
least one year. Treasurer will assist in ordering awards, shop for camp, accept entrance fees to Fashion Revue/Talent
Show, write receipts for the auction items at Achievement Night, etc.
Reporter: Open to any last year intermediate or senior age 4-H member (13 to 19 years old) that has been in 4-H at
least one year. Reporter will write articles for the 4-H newsletter, newspaper, and design and maintain the 4-H bulletin
board in the Extension Office.
Sentinel: Open to any last year intermediate or senior age 4-H member (13 to 19 years old) that has been in 4-H at least
one year. Sentinel is responsible for the camp hospitality, check in and get acquainted activities at camp.
Representative/Team Member: Open to any last year intermediate or senior age 4-H member (13 to 19 years old) that
has been in 4-H at least one year. Representatives will help with camp, fair, Achievement Night, Dog Show, Shooting
Sports Contest, Horse Show, Fashion Revue, Judging & Skillathon Contests, and other county 4-H activities.
I would like to be considered for selection to the Elko County 4-H Officer Team. I understand that if I am chosen
as a member of this team, there are certain responsibilities that I am expected to carry out. I understand that I must
attend 4-H Camp, the Elko County Fair, and Achievement Night. I also understand that I must attend at least 80% of
the Camp Planning meetings that are held monthly from January until 4-H Camp in July. I also understand that I must
attend and assist at least THREE of the following Elko County 4-H activities: Horse Show, Shooting Sports Field Day,
Dog Show, Fashion Revue, Livestock Judging /Livestock Skillathon, Horse Judging/Horse Skillathon, Favorite Foods
Contest, and the National Science Experiment.
Candidates and parents need to be fully aware of the extent of the commitment and responsibilities that
comes with being a member of the Elko County 4-H officer team.
Elko County 4-H officer team members will be required to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all
times and be a positive role model for all 4-H members.
