Edinburgh Neuroscience PhD Application

Please refer to the EdNeuro.PhD website at www.edneurophd.ed.ac.uk for information on PhD
projects and programmes available before completing this form.

You can apply for up to a maximum of THREE projects in any one round using the same form,
although it is not necessary to apply for more than one project. Please use a separate
application form for applying to the PhD programme.

You should contact prospective supervisor(s) before applying for an individual PhD project. You
should not contact prospective supervisors if you are applying to the PhD programme.

Please pay attention to the deadline for receipt of applications, which is noted on each
project/programme description page.

You are responsible for contacting your named referees and arranging for them to send
references directly to either the EdNeuro.PhD or WT4yrPhD-TN email addresses. If you wish you
may send them the reference guidelines, which can be downloaded from the website. Please
note that references must be received within 5 days of the application deadline. Applications
without references will not be considered.

The Edinburgh Neuroscience Selection Panel will meet and assess applications shortly after the
application deadline. You will be contacted regarding interview if you are selected for the
shortlist. Interviews for 2016 entry to the ‘Wellcome Trust 4 year PhD Programme in
Translational Neuroscience’ will take place on Wednesday 13th January 2016 in Edinburgh.

The completed application form should be submitted electronically to either
EdNeuro.PhD@ed.ac.uk (for individual PhD projects) or WT4yrPhD-TN@ed.ac.uk (for the PhD
programme in Translational Neuroscience). In the email subject line you should quote the
references codes(s) for the project(s)/programme for which you are applying. Do not send
any other documents or files at this stage – you will be contacted directly if further
information or documentation is required.

project code(s) for which you are applying.
For applications to the Wellcome Trust 4-year PhD programme in
Translational Neuroscience, please e-mail the completed application form to
WT4yrPhD-TN@ed.ac.uk. In the subject line of the email please indicate
‘2016-WT4yrPhD-TN’.
Please organise for your referees to send their references directly to the same
email address as your application form, with your full name and the PhD
