modular operation theatresand 125 beds in different intensive care units The
departments of Medical, Haemato-Oncology and Pediatric Oncology use the latest
treatment modalities in the management of cancers with chemotherapy, targeted
therapies and hormonal therapy.
Duties And Responsibilities

Perform technical tasks e.g. administration of medication, assisting doctors in
various medical procedure, preparing articles and the patient for medical or
nursing procedure, recording vital signs, tube feeding, giving enema, bowel
wash, dressing , stomach wash, eye and ear care, collecting and sending of
specimen, pre and post-operative care ,

Help doctors in diagnosis and treatment

Coordinate patients care with various health team members.

Provide health care and carry out therapeutic medical regimens for the
patients of hematological diseases including Leukemia, Lymphoma,
Myeloma, Aplastic anemia, Thalassemia etc.

Knowledge and taking care of central lines (e.g. Hickman line, Dialysis
catheter and CVP, Chemo-port) and other peripherally inserted lines ( Cavafix, vein flow) including blood sample collection, aseptic line dressing and
proper flushing to keep them patent.

Follow proper hand washing steps and wear personal protective equipment’s
to prevent hospital acquired infection.

Knowledge and expertise to take care of patient with mucositis, febrile
neutropenia and graft versus host disease.

Prepare and assist in bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.

Assist in bone marrow stem cell harvesting and prepare the patient for
hematopoietic stem cell infusions.

Assist in Hematopoietic stem cell infusions

Maintaining intake and output chart and
anything seemed to be abnormal

Administer chemotherapy drugs and monitoring side effects of chemotherapy
like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and anorexia.

Administer medications including analgesics, antibiotics etc. observe and
document therapeutic effects.
inform to concerned doctor if

Impart health education to the patients, send to other departments or transfer
to other institutions.

Replace the fluid loss through the administration of appropriate IV fluid and
blood products according to the doctor’s instructions..

Carefully monitors the patients while administering IV infusion, blood products
and other medications.

Assessing anxiety level of patients and tension and try to reduce it by
providing appropriate physical and psychological support.

Maintain clean and safe environment for the patient.

Implement and maintain ward policies and routines

Observe change in patient condition and records, take necessary action
and reports to the concerned department.

