I hope all of the students enjoy their summer and come back ready for another great year of learning. Below are a few necessary dates and times for the beginning of next school year. Please feel free to call or stop by the Central office if you have any questions. Ellis (K-3) teacher assignments will be posted on the outside office doors on August 11, 2015. Harmony (4-6) teacher assignments will be posted at Open House on August 13, 2015 Emge (7-8) student schedules will be distributed at Open House on August 13, 2015. Opening of School First day: Monday, August 17, 2015 Time: Ellis Elementary Harmony Intermediate Center Emge Junior High 9:10 A.M. - 3:40 P.M. 8:05 A.M. - 2:35 P.M. 8:05 A.M. - 2:35 P.M. 1. Student Registration: Please read carefully. These are the only documents that will be accepted. ALL students must register each year in District #175. Re-Enrollment (returning families) Registration is Wednesday, July 29th, from 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. New Student Registration is Thursday, July 30th from 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Open Registration is Thursday, July 30th from 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Registration will be held at Emge Junior High School. Residency Requirements: Occupancy permit must be presented for initial year of enrollment. Please bring one documentation from both Column A and Column B COLUMN A Current lease (including landlord's name and phone number) or mortgage COLUMN B Current Utility bill (water, electric/gas, phone-landline only, sewer,): All must be current All Kids Medical Card Home/rental insurance Property Tax statement *Residency is confirmed on a regular basis. Falsifying residency information for the purpose of a child attending school in a district is a Class C misdemeanor. Scheduled students found to be living outside of the district will be dropped. 3. Medical Requirements Forms are available on our website and at registration. All physicals, immunizations, dental and vision exams must be completed by the first day of school. Grade: Pre-K, EC, K, 6th and New Students: Grade: K, 2nd, 6th Grade: K and New Students: Grade: 5th- 8th 4. Physical Exam/Immunization Record Dental Exam Vision Exam Sports Physical Textbook and Miscellaneous Fees Textbook rental fees and activity fees will be collected at registration on July 29th or July 30th. Textbook rental fees and activity fees for the 2015-2016 school year vary depending upon the grade level. Please refer to fee schedule sheet that is posted on the district website at www.harmony175.org. 5. School Lunch/Breakfast Program A student will not be allowed to charge more than two lunches. No breakfast can be charged. Breakfast: $1.75 Lunch: $2.75 Milk: $ .30 6. Student Accident Insurance Student accident insurance information will be available on the first day of school. 7. School Closing During the winter there could be some days when it is impossible or extremely dangerous to operate buses. It is normally impossible to make a decision the night before. If it becomes necessary to close school, an ANNOUNCEMENT will be made over the local television stations: KTVI (Channel 2), KMOV (Channel 4) or KSDK (Channel 5). Normally this decision will be reached so that the first announcement can be made at least by 7:00 A.M. It will be listed by the district name, Harmony-Emge School District #175. 8. Fall Sports Try-Out Information Try-outs for softball, baseball, and soccer will be announced. All students must have a sports physical prior to try-outs in order to participate. Plan to avoid any conflicts (i.e. vacation, other camps, etc.). ALL FEES MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO THE FIRST GAME IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE. IF FEES ARE NOT PAID, YOUR STUDENT WILL NOT PARTICIPATE.
