4.3
Joint Older People’s Management Group (Feedback form provided)
26 Jan 2014 – Focus on dementia. Innovation Fund Review – the full
evaluation of projects funded through this workstream is available. Ian
presented for 2 ½ hours to Core Group in December on the work of the
projects. All materials re the evaluation are available on EVOC’s website –
the older people forum pages as usual.
4.4
Knowledge of Care Homes was discussed, and people were keen to know
how this can be improved. A QA group meets within the CEC, and maybe
there is a link there that would be helpful in informing organisations about
how the system works and the quality (Care Inspectorate reports too) and
Ian B
availability issues which could be more widely explained.
4.5
The other feedback forms were read by Forum members and no
discussion/questions were tabled.

projects being invited to the City Chambers for a small presentation event
with Councillors.

COPRODUCTION PARTNERSHIPS
6.1
Registered Day Services Providers
The second meeting is in the diary for Friday 7 Feb. The ‘soft market
testing’ hasn’t begun yet – feedback will be sought at the meeting. People
also wanted more information on the risk assessment, again this will be
asked at the meeting.
6.2
Un-registered Day Services Providers
This new meeting follows on from the above on 7 Feb. Invited
organisations are those that are providing unregistered services under
contract to CEC (not those that provide services with a grant award). The
meeting
is
to
discuss
a
way
forward
for
future
procurement/commissioning of these services/activities.
7
LOOP (LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR OLDER PEOPLE) NETWORKS
7.1
Dates for the first meetings are confirmed and everyone indicated they
knew about the work. Discussion moved on to the future of the Resource
& Referral Groups and how all referrals/notes and assessments are now
contained within the SWIFT IT System of the H&SC Dept. There’s lots of
work being done with Social Care Direct to improve referrals and with the
Dept generally to look at better ways to signpost people within or before
the formal assessment processes.
8
ORGANISATIONAL INFO EXCHANGE
Health In Mind – New leaflet/Handout circulated. Will be available under
the resources section of the older people’s forum pages on the website
electronically.
Dementia work – Alzheimer Scotland Link Workers are now in place across
the city. Agreed to invite a presentation/discussion at a future forum in the
spring when they have settled-in.
Comms/Branding – quick discussion about how this might be improved
across older people services/activities to attract more people who might
not see themselves as ‘old’ but may benefit from attending activities etc.
Again, a theme for future meetings, or something separate.
