Sea turtles are considered one of Earth’s most ancient creatures and seven different species are
found today. These species are: the Loggerhead, Green turtle, Leatherback, Hawksbill, Kemp’s
ridley, Olive ridley, and the Flatback.
Sea turtles are difficult to track but are usually found in all warm and temperate waters
throughout the world. They undergo long migrations between nesting and feeding grounds.Their
diet generally consists of jellyfish, seaweed, crabs, shrimp, sponges, snails, algae, and mollusks
but slightly differs with each subspecies.

turtles in the United States, more specifically, Florida. They are reddish-brown and have
very large heads. Loggerheads can reach up to 3.5 feet long and can weigh up to 400
pounds.

turtles, reaching up to 6 feet and weighing over 2,000 pounds. They have the ability to dive

Your Support is Vital to Sea Turtle Survival
The odds of a sea turtle hatchling surviving long enough to reach reproductive maturity is slim
due to natural and human threats. Human impacts have seriously depleted sea turtle populations
to the point where we are in danger of losing some species forever.
The Sea Turtle Hospital provides a place for sick and injured sea turtles to receive care,
treatment and medicines. With your support, we can continue efforts to sustain these species into
the next century and beyond.
Many ask “How can we contribute?”
There are many ways that an individual can help our cause. These methods include: donations,
volunteering, adopting a sea turtle, or something as simple as spreading the word about sea turtle
endangerment and ways to help prevent it.
Join our cause and help a sea turtle out!
