December 1st.

Minimum Graduate Record Exam Scores (GRE). GRE scores are expected to be at least

who are admitted to the Program are considerably higher.

interests is expected.
FUNDING
Typically, graduate students in the department are supported for 4 years of study. Sources of
funding include university fellowships and graduate assistantships.
Graduate Assistantships. Most graduate students are awarded graduate assistantships. These
include a stipend of approximately $1833/mo* plus full tuition remission and health insurance
benefits for the academic year (12 months) in return for a 20-hour per week commitment,
typically as a teaching assistant or research assistant.
University Fellowships. A limited number of University Fellowships is awarded each year to
outstanding students. These fellowships provide a stipend of $1833/mo* plus full tuition
remission and health insurance benefits for the academic year (12 months). A University
Fellowship is a one-year award, renewable for one additional year. After this time, students
typically assume graduate assistantships.
