-1- Fall 2016 Admission Year Experimental Psychology Ph.D. Program Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences University of Louisville ADMISSIONS INFORMATION The following information is provided to aid applicants in deciding whether to apply to our Experimental Psychology Ph.D. Program. We do not have a master's degree program. The Experimental Psychology Ph.D. program has two tracks: Cognitive & Developmental Sciences and Vision & Hearing Sciences. APPLICATIONS The program accepts new students in the Fall semester only. Our application deadline is December 1st. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum Graduate Record Exam Scores (GRE). GRE scores are expected to be at least 151 Verbal and 152 Quantitative. Grade Point Average (GPA). GPA is expected to be at least 3.00. The GPAs of most applicants who are admitted to the Program are considerably higher. Research Interests. A very good match between the applicant’s and faculty mentor’s research interests is expected. FUNDING Typically, graduate students in the department are supported for 4 years of study. Sources of funding include university fellowships and graduate assistantships. Graduate Assistantships. Most graduate students are awarded graduate assistantships. These include a stipend of approximately $1833/mo* plus full tuition remission and health insurance benefits for the academic year (12 months) in return for a 20-hour per week commitment, typically as a teaching assistant or research assistant. University Fellowships. A limited number of University Fellowships is awarded each year to outstanding students. These fellowships provide a stipend of $1833/mo* plus full tuition remission and health insurance benefits for the academic year (12 months). A University Fellowship is a one-year award, renewable for one additional year.
