Equestrian Cowboys &
Angels Drill Team:
14 riders prepared two
different drills. The teams
competed in four different
categories at the
Southeastern Show arena
against teams from all over.
The newly established
“Green Team” received 2nd
place in the freestyle ride .
The “Novice Team” also
placed 2nd in their freestyle
ride and received a 1st place
for their Super Hero theme.

Fall Forum 2015 – Nothing like a weekend at the Rock in December. Apply to be a workshop instructor, exhibitor or
community service leader! Don’t miss the incredible opportunity to gather for this fun and exciting weekend with 4-H’ers from
across the state! This conference will be held at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center on December 12 & 13. The cost is $75.00
and will include: a talent review, a performance by Clovers & Company, community service projects, a street dance, and
more! If interested, contact the 4-H Office. All students attending are encouraged to complete an Exhibit and apply to teach
a class or lead a community service project; applications are due November 10th. Applications for each area are available at:

Horse Quiz Bowl – All students will continue to practice at the 4-H Office on Thursdays from 3:30 until 5:30.
Cloverleaf District Project Achievement - Cloverleaf 4-H’ers that participated in Project Achievement for the county level
are encouraged to now advance to Cloverleaf District Project Achievement on November 21st, 2015, at Rock Eagle 4-H
Center. We encourage all competitors to schedule an appointment no later than November 6th. Dress rehearsal will be
Tuesday, November 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Teen Leaders in 8th—12th grade have been selected and sent letters. All
selected teen leaders need to wear Madison County 4-H aqua Polo’s & black/khaki pants on Saturday, November 21st and
should plan on attending the Teen Leader training and set up on Tuesday November 17th from 3:30—5:00 at the Colt
Academy / Board of Education PLC Cafeteria.
Cotton Boll and Consumer Judging – Good luck to the students that have been practicing. We go to competition
November 5th in Conyers.
Need A Computer: A need-based application is available at the following link: You need to complete the application, get a
reference letter from a teacher, and write a short essay on why it is needed. Contact the 4-H Office if you are interested.
Upcoming Meetings - Cloverleaf and Junior Officers, please be sure to keep a schedule handy for your upcoming
meetings and be prepared. High School students will now meet in the Café Patio weather permitting. During cold weather
days or rain, we will meet in Mr. Robertson’s room, 125. Next High School meeting, Nov.18th, may be inside if it is a cold.
Junior Conference –Honor America through 4-H. 4-H’ers in grades 7-8, don’t miss your opportunity to gather for this fun
and exciting weekend with 4-H’ers from across the state! This conference will be held at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center on
November 14 - 15. The cost is $77.00 and will include: a talent review, a performance by Clovers & Company, community
service projects, learning workshops, share in the exhibit fair, and dance the night away. If interested, contact the 4-H Office.
All students attending are encouraged to complete an Exhibit application. Register no later than November 4th!
Rivers Alive Clean-Up - Juniors and Seniors are asked to help at the workday Saturday, November 7 from 1:00 until. This
would be a fantastic community service activity for those in Project S.A.F.E. and Project Achievement. Anyone is welcome
to meet us at the river on Fred Goss Road at the beach area closest to the river. Look for the Madison County 4-H sign.
Wear your old clothes and water shoes or closed toe shoes or boots. Bring heavy duty gloves. Trash bags will be provided.
Find the most interesting trash!
Adopt A Highway: Another opportunity for clean-up of our roads will be Monday, November 10th. Meet at the Recreation
Department shelter next to the Tennis Courts.
Project SAFE Shooting Sports – BB (5th –8th graders), Archery
(5th—12th graders) and Shotgun (7th-12th graders) have commitment
nights are in November and December. Check with coaches for info.
Cloverleaf Points -Take this 4-H newsletter home so your parents
know what 4-H has to offer. Your goal this year is 90 points earned by
April 25, 2016! Keep track of your points in your point pamphlet. This is
your record to track points! Complete and clip the part with your
parent’s signature - and return to your 4-H leaders at next club meeting
to earn two 4-H Points!
MOAS P.A.W.S. -Trainers will continue on Sun. 1:30 to 3:30 pm at
Animal Shelter.
Robotics - We have a great year planned for the upcoming year. We
will continue to meet regularly in our new workshop room 315 and in
Dr. Felt’s room for Robotics at the High School on Thursdays. Members
work hands-on with Robot building, programming, marketing, and
finances. Interested participant, in 8th – 12th grade, in becoming a part
of Robotics may call the 4-H Office at 706-795-2281 for details.
MilkMake Recipe Contest – Do you experiment in the kitchen with
milk? Hopefully, you have come up with your favorite creative milk drink
recipe. Test out your recipe on others until you have it just right. Fill
out the entry form you received at club meetings and turn it in to the 4H office no later than Monday, November 30th. Your recipes will be
judged on nutrition, appeal, creativity, flavor, and technique /
preparation. The top county milk drink recipes will receive a T-shirt.
Check out the handout given to Cloverleafs at the October Club
meeting and to Juniors at the November Club meeting for more details
and write a thank you note to the Southeast United Dairy Industry
Association. Winners will be announced in January.
Horse Equestrian Drill Team - Interested members call the 4-H Office
for details. They meet on Sundays from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. The 14
member team has been set but they still would like for interested
4-H’ers to come out to practices to prepare for the future.
Fundraiser Contest Winners: Congratulations! Thank you for all the
orders for fundraisers. The winners include: Flower Bulbs: 1st: Parker
Varnadoe; 2nd: Allen Stephens; and 3rd: Clayton Adams; Cookbooks:
1st: Allen Stephens; 2nd: Clayton Adams; and 3rd: Lydia Todd.
Spring Livestock Shows: Make sure your form entries get in on time
to the 4-H office. If you are showing at an upcoming livestock show,
you need to make sure you request a classroom interruption no later
than 2 weeks before the show.
Cloverleaf 4-H’ers
Pop Tabs: All year, we will be collecting pop tops and soda cans for the
Ronald McDonald House charities. You can drop off your pop tops & cans
at school club meeting or at the 4-H office. Just put them in a quart size
Ziploc bag for 5 points or a gallon size—four quart -size bags for 10 points
for Cloverleaf 4-Hers . Remember; get your friends, neighbors, and
family involved! Drop these off at 4-H club meetings. The first round of
tabs will go to Junior Conference on November 14th. Hurry to get your
pop tabs in to help out with this event.
Junior / Senior District Project Achievement Portfolio Workshops
and Deadlines - Call the 4-H Office to receive a packet to help out with
this process required for Junior/Senior District Project Achievement
competitors. Remember to keep a detailed record of all events that you
have been involved in and ones that you are using for project sharing!
Important portfolio dates to remember include: Project Declaration—now
to ensure that you can have your project area of choice, Support Pages
Workshop (pictures, etc.)—Friday, December 4th; and the final copy of
completed portfolio-December 18th No late portfolios! No one in the
office during UGA Christmas Holidays. Call us if you need any help
developing/sharing work. District Project Achievement will be take
place March 11th – 13th, 2016.
Senior Wall Challenge 2016 Graduating Seniors: If you want to make
sure that your legacy with 4-H continues even after you graduate. Your
name can be placed on 2016 graduate Senior Wall for a fee. Call the 4-H
Office for more details.
Youth 2 Senior Connection – Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov.
24th from 4:00 until 5:00 at the Hampton House in Colbert. Sign up at the
4-H Office if you are interested and let us know if you need transportation.
We will be making Thanksgiving Crafts and helping the Seniors decorate
for the holidays!
Wednesday 4-H Portfolio Clinics: Juniors and Seniors are required to
complete their Portfolios no later than December 18th. Please schedule
and appointment before attending so we can have a volunteer scheduled
to work with you. MCHS Seniors, your appointments can be as early as
1:30. Call 706-795-2281 to sign up and for a ride.
Christmas Toys, Foods Needed: Junior and Senior 4-H’ers that would
like to help out, please donate items such as: card games, coloring
books, crayons, markers, small toys, etc. that would make a young child
happy to receive at Christmas time! These should be turned into the 4-H
Office no later than Friday, December 4th.
