SUBJECT: ANNUAL ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
The Education Code, Section 35143, requires that Districts hold an annual organization
meeting within a fifteen day period from the date that elected board members takes
office (or would have taken office if no election were held). The organizational meeting
must be held within 15 days of the first Friday in December (between December 4th and
December 18th). The date of this year’s annual organizational meeting must be
selected by the board at its regular meeting held immediately prior to December
4th.
Attached is a form to record the date of that organizational meeting, the designated
board positions and the board meeting schedule. Also attached are samples of
resolutions that authorize signatures for orders to be drawn on the district's funds.
Please send a completed copy of these attached forms to MCOE/ District Services by
December 31, 2015. If you have any questions, please call me at 381-6726.
