Gloria Young Hovious Memorial Scholarship
Each year the Department of Professional Studies awards the Gloria Young Hovious Memorial
Scholarship for the upcoming academic year. This scholarship within the College Heights Foundation
was established by family, colleagues, and other friends to honor the memory of Mrs. Hovious. Mrs.
Hovious served as a prominent member of the faculty in Western’s Business Education Department. It is
designated to help students studying in the Office Programs at the WKU South Campus.
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must maintain full time enrollment (12 hours or more) during
the academic year the scholarship is awarded. The amount of the scholarship for the 2011-2012
academic year was $450, payable one half each semester.
To apply for the Hovious Scholarship, please write a letter below and/or on the back of this application form
stating how this scholarship would assist you in obtaining your educational and future goals.
In order to be considered for this year’s Cates Scholarship, please submit this completed application form to
Haley Smith in the Department of Professional Studies Office, room C101 at South Campus by Monday, April
2, 2012.
