UNITED STATES CAPITOL POLICE LABOR COMMITTEE Three (3) $500 Scholarship Awards will be awarded to the winners. 1 Eligibility; All candidates must be a member in good standing for one (1) consecutive year, or when first eligible to join the Labor Committee ( new recruits, recent transfer from a non-bargaining element as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement). You must provide with your application a letter of acceptance/proof of registration or enrollment from an accredited College, University, or Technical/Vocational School. The scholarship may only be used at an accredited College, University, or Technical/Vocational School. Scoring system; The system is based on 100 points being the top score. For scoring purposes 1, 2 and 3B may only be used once each 1. Refer a prospective member that results in that person joining the Labor Committee (10 points) 2. Attendance at a monthly Labor Committee General Membership meeting (10 points) 3. Participation in Union Activities A. Chief Steward / Shop Steward (10 points) B. Committee Member/Union Volunteer (10 points) 4. Military Service (May be required to provide verification) (10 points) 5. Administration; This program is being administered by the USCP FOP Labor Committee Executive Board and all decisions and rulings will be finalized by the Executive Board. The Treasurer will prepare a check payable to the winner’s College, University, or Technical/Vocational School. The scoring and judging of all applications will be done by persons who have no vested interests in or relationships with the applicants.
