Bed Bug Service Preparation Checklist (Heat) Revision 02/27/2015 NOTE: All areas must be prepared according to this notice; a preparation fee and/or a reschedule fee will apply if you are not ready. Failure to follow the preparation checklist will diminish the effectiveness of the treatment and void the warranty. IN ALL ROOMS YOU MUST: Completed Yes No Preparing the Floors Remove all items from floors (clothes, bedding, stuffed animals, toys and clutter). Place soiled clothing and bedding in a large trash bag and secure closed. (Wash as soon as possible) Place all toys, shoes, and other clutter in large trash bags and secure closed. Yes No Preparing the Bedrooms & Other Rooms Remove all mattress and box springs from bed frames, place against wall standing up. Move all furniture 6-12 inches away from walls for access. As a safety precaution, cover all bird cages and or fish tanks with a blanket and remove other pets. Take down all vinyl window coverings, smoke detectors, etc. Please let us know if there are fire sprinklers and/or heat sensors. Do Not remove hanging clothes. Leave hanging clothes hanging! The night before service, please launder a set of clothing at the hottest temperature possible and seal in a plastic bag. Change into these clothes for the day and do not take any other clothing with you. Yes No Preparing Bedding & Clothing Launder ALL clothes, bedding and washable items in WARM-HOT water. (Read labels for instructions). At MINIMUM dry all laundered items on high heat for 20 minutes. After laundering bedding, pillows and washable items, place in trash bag or air tight container and seal. Yes No Where to Place Bagged or Contained Items All items that have been bagged or placed in airtight containers must be placed in the center of the room or in an area free of debris. (DO NOT PLACE THESE AGAINST WALLS OR ON TOP OF FURNITURE)! Yes No Vacuuming and Cleaning Prior to Services Vacuum ALL flooring prior to ALL services. (PLACE ALL VACUUM BAGS INSIDE A TRASH BAGS AND CLOSE. IMMEDIATELY TAKE THE TRASH BAG TO AN EXTERIOR TRASH CONTAINER). HEAT SENSITIVE CHECKLIST Remove the following items for heat treatments: CD’s, DVD’s, other plastic media Fresh fruits and vegetables, chocolates, carbonated beverages, wines, liquors, vitamins, medicines, and artificial sweeteners. Small items may be placed in a refrigerator to protect them. Candles, wax, crayons, lipstick and other melt-able cosmetics Oil paintings, acrylics (art work), paintings, pictures, and photos Medicines and vitamins (may be placed in the refrigerator) Arts and craft items that are assembled with hot melt glue Aerosol cans, fire extinguishers, and other combustible items Personal or family heirlooms Persons, plants, and animals ((Please point out any antique furniture with finish or fragile glue points to our technicians to evaluate if they need to be inspected for bedbugs and removed or covered)) For complete penetration of the heat, it may be necessary to open drawers, move furniture and/or personal items. Please do not be alarmed if you find that furniture, clothes, and other personal items have been moved! This has been done to facilitate the movement of heated air throughout the structure to penetrate items like mattresses, box springs, sofas, inside wall voids, and hard to reach areas. RITECorp assumes no liability for damage to structures not built to local codes, or for faulty gas meters, pipes or wires. It is necessary to have access to electrical power. We are not liable for damage to old, oxidized, or improperly applied, peeled, or chipped finishes. We also assume no liability for damage to painted surfaces. I/we the undersigned have read, reviewed, and agreed to all the provisions contained herein and have acknowledged receipt of an exact copy of this notice.
