6th Annual Pumpkin Run

Dear Community Member:
St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and St. Stephen Catholic Community will hold the 6 th annual 5k fun
run/walk on November 14, 2015, 7:30 a.m. at beautiful Mead Gardens in Winter Park, Florida. The 5k
continues to grow each year and we anticipate registering approximately 600 runners for the event. The
race features a flat and fast running course as well as a commemorative t-shirt. Most importantly, the
event’s proceeds will be used to support our adopted parishes in Haiti in the areas of health, education,
economic development, evangelization and peace. We need your support to continue and expand the
following efforts:





Developing sustainable programs in Haiti to provide clean drinking water and health care;
Building computer labs, proving teacher training, and supporting career development;
Building on established sustainable banks, livestock and agriculture programs which provide training
and a sustainable source of income and food;
Refurbishing area chapels and training spiritual leaders;
Building on an established program providing leadership training and teaching strategies for dealing
with conflict and promoting peace.
The success of the Pumpkin Run and these community programs for Haiti outlined above depend largely
on your generosity. This is because a central fundraising element of the Pumpkin Run are the cash and inkind donations from local businesses, corporate sponsors and community members like you. If you are
interested in making either a monetary or in-kind donation, please contact Tom and Mary Hargrave at

donation. They will be happy to complete the necessary paperwork and arrange for pick-up of the donation.
