UTPSYCHIATRY PSYCHOTHERAPY DAY 2015 “Integrative Approaches and Change Processes in Psychotherapy” Save the Date! Friday December 11th, 2015 9am – 12pm for Psychiatry Residents and all UTPsychiatry Faculty 12pm – 4pm for Psychiatry Residents only The morning will be an interactive, didactic presentation, with the afternoon devoted to small group case-based and skills-teaching. Location: Michener Institute At the end of this program, participants will be able to: 1. Describe the rationale, major themes and challenges of psychotherapy integration. 2. Apply clinical guidelines derived from research on principles of change in psychotherapy process. 3. Integrate psychotherapy interventions within psychiatric care in varied service settings for a range of clinical challenges. Dr. Louis G. Castonguay, Ph.D. completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook and Post-doctorate training at Stanford University. He is a Professor at the Department of Psychology at Penn State University. With more than 170 publications including seven co-edited books, his work and research focus on the process of change and training within the context of psychotherapy integration. He is involved in the investigation of the efficacy of new integrative treatments for generalized anxiety disorder and depression, and the development of Practice Research Networks aimed at facilitating the collaboration between clinicians and researchers. He has received several awards, including from the APA Division of Psychotherapy: the Jack D. Krasner Memorial Award, the Distinguished Contributions to Teaching and Mentoring, the Distinguished Research Publications Award, and the Distinguished Psychologist Award for his life time contributions to the field of psychotherapy; and served as President of the North American Society for Psychotherapy Research and the International Society for Psychotherapy Research.
