Letter to the Mentor
Dear Senior Project Mentor:
On behalf of the students of Pasco High School, we thank you for your decision to be a Senior
Project Mentor. It is our sincere hope and belief that this will be a rewarding and memorable
experience for both you and the student.
This handbook was designed to provide you with an outline of the Pasco High School Senior
Project requirements, as well as to give you the tools necessary to feel comfortable in your
mentoring.
We ask that you begin by completing the Mentor Registration Form found on the last page of
this packet. The student will need you to complete a verification form at the completion of his
or her experience.
Again, thank you for participating in the education of a very special Pasco High School student.
Sincerely,
Senior Project Office

Common questions:
Do I have to be with the student at all times when they are working on the Senior Project?
You will need to verify that the student has worked at least 15 hours on their project,
however, this may be accomplished by seeing the project at various stages of
development rather than overseeing the entire project. It is important that the student
feels comfortable contacting you for guidance and support.
What will I have to do?
You will need to meet with the student at various times as the experience is planned
and executed.
What if I have concerns about the student’s progress?
Feel free to contact the Senior Project Office, 547-5581 ext. 3794 (Gloria Parker), as
soon as you have a concern. Remember that success is in the student’s hands, it is
ultimately their responsibility to make sure the project is complete.
