Now this is a really idea. It's basically managing the grid based on usage to prevent
overload. I think the process is fair as it offers financial incentives to electric car
owners and it does not prevent the electric car driver from charging if it's not approved
by them. Awesome idea!

The goal of this program is to develop a cloud-based, central server that would
receive grid requests from a utility—such as Demand Response—and then translate
and standardize that request so it could be relayed to all appropriate plug-in vehicles
in the designated area. Automakers would be expected to develop and deploy
technologies compatible with these smart grid communications.

Tesla has their owned battery to offer their EV, and now the battery is going to be
powered by Gigafactory which in charge of Tesla Model 3. Some might think that Tesla
should not state government against each other to get the best deal for the corporateowned Gigafactory; however, in the business aspect, Tesla has know what their are
doing and has their specific point of view; therefore, Tesla has right to choose the
best.

Tesla-the electric carmaker posted its best quarter ever in terms of deliveries, including its best single day
with 907 EVs delivered. The company also announced expanded production to get even more vehicles out
the door by the end of 2015.

In researching Tesla’s current production rate, an article stated that they are
currently producing less than 100,000 EVs per year, and are hoping to reach
100,000 by the end of 2015. Therefore, a prediction of 500,000 EVs per year by
2020, seems to be a far reach at this point. Not to mention that in the article
“Tesla Model X Reservation Holders Get An Email”, Tesla stated that current
customers may be waiting until 2016 to receive their preordered Model X cars. If
they are not able to produce today’s production demands, how do they expect to
produce 5X this amount in a few years?
Even though they are planning on producing a cheaper EV with a driving range of
200 miles, the range doesn’t compare to an average gasoline powered vehicle,
which averages over 300 miles per tank full. They would have to drastically
increase the amount of charging stations in order to stay competitive.
