Supervisor in their operations department located in Williams Lake, BC. Service Supervisor will be responsible for the safety, people, quality and quantity as it relates to the customer service commitment.

Our client is the world’s largest Caterpillar equipment dealer headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta.

They sell, rent and provide customer support services for Caterpillar equipment and engines in

British Columbia, Yukon, Alberta and the Northwest Territories and a portion of Nunavut. They serve a diverse range of industrial markets, including mining, forestry, construction, pipeline/oil field construction, agriculture, government sector, marine, transportation, fisheries, and the commercial transport industry.

 Salary:

$95,500 – $110,000 – depending on experience.

Experience: o Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines (minimum of 4 years) o Minimum 2 years supervisory/lead-hand experience

Education:

Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal)

Skills and Abilities: o The desire to lead and manage people o Effective leadership / supervisory skills o SIS advanced skills as it relates to Service letters, special instructions, parts, fluid types and quantities, troubleshooting steps, disassembly and assembly instructions, read a schematic, read and understand systems operations, technical information bulletins and reusability guidelines o Ability to use SIMSi as it relates to machine configuration and outstanding service letters in PIS o Understand SIMS reporting and drive reporting on service reports, drive entries into the system for all part failures o Ability to navigate in DSN and DPSS to look up machine history and look up relevant product issues o Strong understanding of performance management principles, processes and the principles of high performance leadership o Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills

o Strong communication skills to clearly communicate job scope direction and to communicate technical notices out to the front line employees o Strong customer service focus and ability to have technical conversations with customers, sales organization and technicians o Demonstrated effective communication skills to engage, motivate and lead employees o Strong decision making and problem solving skills o Build a strong relationship with all employees and union employees o Financial acumen course to understand and interpret associated KPIs related to branch profitability o Strong understanding of the company’s warranty process, policies and procedures o Strong understanding of the goodwill process, process and procedures o Understanding of the National Safety Code o Strong understanding of contamination control o

Understanding and knowledgeable in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and hazard Assessment

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure quality in on-going performance conversations and formal performance reviews are completed with all employees by their anniversary date o Demonstrate leadership and engagement that is substantiated by meeting safety TRIF and LTI targets supported by internal and external safety audits o Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of staff, including recruitment, orientation, coaching, mentoring, employee engagement, and performance feedback and supporting growth and development opportunities o Spend majority of time on the shop floor to ensure the agreed upon scope of work is accurately followed, determine proper tooling, parts and technical issues are dealt with promptly and daily time and service reports are completed o Manage, determine and allocate technicians to jobs and conduct pre-mid-post job reviews o Ensure that all documented standard operating procedures are being adhered to and followed consistently on the floor with each job o Ensure completion of daily timecards for all employees and ensure this information is accurate and complete o Safety leadership – lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented and followed
