Flat Stanley
Almost all of the Flat Stanley Letters are ready to be sent
out! Once your child receives his or her letter back, please
just send it back into school. There is no timeline when they
need to be sent back to me. It makes it more fun to have
them come in throughout the year and the students really
look forward to hear about all of Flat Stanley’s adventures!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Fruits, Seeds, and Pea Plants
We had another busy week in Science! On
Monday, the students observed different fruits. They
created observational drawings of the fruits and
seeds. The students found out that seeds are not
always located on the inside of the fruit. They also
compared how the seeds looked.
During the week, the students also created their
own life cycle of the pea plants in our Science
Notebooks. We did another observation of the pea
plants in the best and stressed environments! Next
week, we will begin a tiny seed project using the text,
“The Tiny Seed,” by Eric Carle!

What an awesome Fun Run! The students had a great time running,
walking, or dancing around the track! Please remember that donations
will be accepted through September 25th when we have a Celebration
Assembly to wrap up our event and congratulate our students on a job
well-done! Please remember though that the prizes are determined by
the donations received by 9/18. We are getting closer to our goal of
$15,000.00! Way to go!

I am so impressed with how many students tried out for Student Council!
The posters and speeches were great! I think this is the most I have had
on a ballot in all of my years of teaching! I will be posting the names of
the students who will represent our class on the website this afternoon!

Picture Retakes will be on Monday, October, 5, 2015.
It was great seeing some of you out at the Fun Run!
Thank you for cheering our class on and being a part of
the special event! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me
know!
Thank you,
Mrs. Rowe
